Zara Larsson used to be an up-and-coming MPG. Her debut single, "Lush Life" which dropped almost exactly a decade ago, was a smash success in Europe; the follow-up single "Never Forget You" broke her into the American market. Her Clean Bandit collaboration "Symphony" was also a global smash, which later went viral in 2024, demonstrating that it is still remembered fondly. Her 2017 album 'So Good' was the second most streamed album by a female artist on Spotify for a while (behind Dua Lipa's self-titled which... well...)

When she killed her momentum by releasing So Good ft Ty Dolla Sign as a single. How do you go from Ain't my Fault to So good.... 

also waiting so long to drop the actual album. Shouldve dropped alongside aint My fault 

Label limbo for Poster Girl which killed her momentum, inconsistency in her releases (hit or miss, mostly miss lately), and lack of touring

wait, i remember in 2023 she got some buzz after like 6 years of non-stop flopping just to return with a bland af Blinding Lights copypasta  that was such a wasted moment lol

While having flops, she's still booking her biggest headline tour ever with over 17 dates with big capacities.

Her music? It lacks personality and it's very bland for the most part like girl can sing and can dance but has a very underwhelming discography.

I always thought her debut album (the one with Skipping a Beat, Rooftop, If I Was Your Girl....) was her most seasoned music she has done yet.

 

She was like a perfect mix of Robyn and Rihanna.

 

Then she signed for an international deal... Except some songs every now and then, i found she truly missed a musical identity (despite having the talent for it)

she lost her momentum bc her team took wayyyy too long to let her release the So Good album and then dropped the ball again with Poster Girl (i still stand by the hunch that WOW could've been a huge smash if it wasn't completely abandoned) and people stopped caring, in addition to terrible single choices

 

it doesn't help that she never really carved out an identity and despite making some excellent pop songs her albums are always a mixed bag bc she never sticks to one sound

she's mimicking a Björk-esque career trajectory is all

 

-Leaked corn photos and her vanishing from the scene for quite some time

-Bland music

-taking braces off before putting the album out 1st

-Her views (I'm not the one to judge, but they're rather radical and might've put some people off)

- bad team

-no clear direction

 

And that's sad, cause she's talented.

she's the definition of faceless–there's nothing making her stand out, nothing setting her apart. her music is very generic and could be easily recorded by anybody else and sound exactly the same.

 

She deserved better but then Pretty Ugly made me second guess that 

She's just not interesting and her music's not that good. There's really nothing more to it lol she had all the opportunities to make it big, but she didn't. If her music was actually something worth listening to and not bland and lifeless made for transition scenes in UK reality tv shows, you'd at the very least have the gays hyping her up and discussing her music like they do with Carly.

We never got to know her at all. Her music is the definition of radio fodder. 

Her voice is extremely irritating. I can't imagine sitting through an entire album of hers 

She just doesn't make good music lowkey. Can't Tame Her was her last *cute* single and it did cute numbers accordingly.

Yeah, it was around 2020 or 2021 when the photos had leaked. She disappeared for a while. I even think she addressed it somewhere. The pics though, are low-key hardcore.  This is why I think it was what might have put a full stop on her career. I feel sorry for her to even go through it, cause If I were her, I'd sink to the earth's core. Glad she's owned it.
