I know this is a common position gays who listen to very slightly more transgressive pop love to take regarding miss Oh but I just don't think this is the case. Charli was influenced by mostly Uffie and Ed Banger stuff early on. There isn't much history to learn here.

Thank you for this. I remember AG cook did an AMA and he said he never heard Nadia Oh until 2020 when a friend showed it to him. When he did, he just thought it was "fun" then proceeds to say Uffie inspired him.

Literally. Sure, Nadia represents generic dirty pop of the late 2000s/early 2010s but that's in reality not where PC Music was taking inspo from. The precursors to PC are much more in the vein of K/JPop, Eurodance, 90s boy/girl bands, IDM and Shibuya-Kei. People tend to forget that the sound of PC Music was developed in 2011-2013... like within a couple years of this Nadia dirty pop type stuff. To say it was a direct influence just feels uninformed: they were basically coming up at the same time. In fact, SOPHIE, AG, Danny L Harle and Easyfun are all older than Nadia.

I more interpreted your comment about the sound of PC Music in general but yes def can see how the approach to blown-out shameless pop songwriting from Nadia/Space Cowboy is living somewhere in Charles' artist DNA.
