It's incredibly Melodrama, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but I did want something new from her not just go back to what she knows is good. I'm sure it's going to grow on me

A big steaming pile of flop like I'm actually in awe

It is reminiscent of Melodrama, which I love it! Imo, it's a great song and I'm happy she's back

I like the song. It's the lyrics I have a problem with but it's my problem, not her's. I kinda hate a bit the way she always idealize the past, it's too juvenile for my taste. I can't wait when she is in her 30's and stop the romanticize of everything.

A place in the city
A chair and a bed
I cover up all the mirrors
I can't see myself yet
I wear smoke like a wedding veil
Make a meal I won't eat
Step out into the street, alone in a sea
It comes over me

Is it bad if I think I prefer her Solar Power vibe than Melodrama's?

yes

:clack:

MDMA in the back garden, blow our pupils up
We kissed for hours straight, well, baby, what was that?
I remember saying then, "This is the best cigarette of my life"

Absolutely.

This is garbage. Limp hookless ambience that's going "for the vibezzzz" yet barely manages to start the engine by the song's end and even at its full throttle it's barely 4/10... the lyrics are a mouthful and she's struggling to spill them out, a clumsy mix of trite and overwritten, the attempt at catering to Brat audience with (hideous) DIY visuals and MDMA references yet the song is giving 400mg ibuprofen at best. It reeks of reactionary desperation to course correct an era that, in hindsight, shouldn't be viewed as a mistake, whereas this, on the other hand..... Honestly, Ella, go back to the beach.

Very tempted to sig this :deadbanana2:

The Spotify's playlist reach is terrible , i hope her label manages to put the song on TTH tonight PLEASE

This is going to be the album's Von dutch. Only some of us (with great taste) will get it from start.

tbh i wouldn't expect many playlists to update on a thursday so you can't really compare it to other pop girl releases.. i'd be shocked if they don't make her #1 on NMF US when her only competition is benson boone :deadbanana2:

Why does her music always sounds so overdramatic? It's giving theatre kid parody
