Why did Circus age so well?

Like especially for an electropop song from the late 00s, it still sounds so fresh :jonny4:

  • Because there are only two types of MPGs in the world: the ones that entertain (Brit included), and the ones that use their husbands to threat the whole industry in order to receive undeserving praise

Circus is a masterpiece and still sounds great and fresh today. I don't think I've ever seen someone disliking it.

Came to say this.   Its an incredible album. Bonus tracks are amazing as well.

It may be not my fave single from her but honestly its production is quite good, it's pop but not your generic pop production.

It's amazing, so it irks me that Womanizer has more streams and 5th in Britney's most popular songs, and Circus is stuck at 6. :biblio:

The whole album is perfection, although ATRL seemingly disagrees according to the ongoing Britney Discography rate.

The second group is for another Pepsi loving MPG, not Britney!

It is a well produced record, one of my personal favorite by Britney, it might not be IT, but it is a VERY solid pop album.

Cause it's sheer non pretentious fun, yet not maximalist enough to sound dated. The writing is great too, especially for a late 00s pop song.

Britney's entire catalogue of hits (for the most part) aged really well. I guess that's what happens when you're the 21st century pop star blueprint.

Blackout > Circus > Femme Fatale  Britney's Holy Trinity

That's actually funny cause when it got released i thought it was a really "straight to the point" album so i expected it to always sounds like "that 2008 album from Britney".

Surprisingly it doesn't. All the album is still good and sounds a bit out of time.

It's a simple album, but 100% crafted for Britney.

Not a Britney fan but most of her music has aged well surprisingly. Circus is far from her best work though.

Well it doesn't like Timbaland electro pop nor Redone's europop sound.... So it doesn't that 2007/2008 label on it. It actually reminds me of the Britney album but more mature.

Sue me but Circus is my favorite Britney album and this is one of her best songs, still sounds incredible.

I prefer it to Blackout and think it has much stronger album tracks (Unusual You, Kill The Lights, Phonography & Mannequin)

Is this specific to the song or the album (or both).

The song itself is a good pop song, even better then say Womanizer. Though I have mixed thoughts on the album.

Yep I was going through her albums and they held up well

It's such a unique pop song with weird synths

the whole circus era with singles aged better than BO imo

It's a great pop song.

I still think Femme Fatale as a whole is better/more cohesive than Circus.
