General consensus seems to point to Sucker (2014) and Crash (2022) as Angel's least favorite projects from miss XCX. Comparing the album's artistry, eras + visuals, and singles, which is superior?

Crash, Crash, Crash.

It's not her best, but it is still good.

Crash felt like a beginning of the end where I was ready to stop following her music. And then she came back mad as hell with Brat. Sucker was a cute moment and had some lovely pop gems.

Two "mainstream sellout" album eras. Sucker was actually ahead of its time trying to set new trends at the time. She was Olivia Rodrigo before Olivia Rodrigo. Crash was following 80s pop trends at the perfect time following Dua Lipa and The Weeknd massive eras that changed pop landscape and shaped early 2020s

The way SUCKER feels WAY more authentic and it's actually a carefree non-pretentious album makes it better than CRASH imo even though CRASH has higher highs. I still love CRASH though but SUCKER feels kind of overhated when it wasn't trying to be a magnum opus let alone masterpiece.

I'm so glad I got to experience CRASH without being faced by the pretentiousness of the Internet. That album is incredible, the bonus tracks especially. My favourite Charli album.

Sucker is the better album, but its singles choices... were choices.

Not releasing Caught in the Middle was a HUGE MISTAKE.

crash but when it comes to singles sucker, boom clap was such a big fave for me for years

Sucker is criminally underrated and it's an important predecessor to Brat in terms of attitude. Doing It (the original solo version) is an important foundational moment in her discography that I feel laid the foundation for some of her best later tracks, not the least of which is Crash's own best track Lightning. The opening title track is similarly a direct parallel to the opening title track of Crash. Other tracks on the album showcase her extreme talent for writing relentlessly catchy pop songs, especially the first half or so, in a way she directly iterates upon for Crash. I'll admit that I return to Crash more often, but I'm giving Sucker a vote in that first category for being the foundation and for being the underrated, overhated root of a lot of Charli's artistry these days. Plus, it helps that Sucker is kind of a more sonically and conceptually cohesive project. I'll give Crash the other two.
