i don't think releasing a mini when whiplash was still in the top 5 would be a good idea tbh. over saturation happens in kpop too. look at twice 

aespa had two major smash in 2024 i think letting the songs breathe a bit is not a bad idea

They were spotted filming for Dirty Work months ago and the song itself has been sitting around for a while. I believe it was originally a title track for a mini album.

 

My theory is we're now getting this messy single release because they've decided to push back the planned mini and have changed the title track. But with Dirty Work already recorded and filmed, it made sense to release it now anyway.

 

It would explain why this release was on SM's schedule as a mini for months, but suddenly changed to a single now.

Um it's been 7 months. Last year we got a Japanese mini, OST, solos, Korean mini and a full length album. I don't think we're asking for too much since it's been crickets since Whiplash

Yes their was an insider who said that they're were gonna comeback with a drive concept which makes sense why tracks like Beep Beep and Drift were getting registered. Why they had a sudden change of plans and are being messy with one of their biggest artists make no sense and benefits no one. I wonder why they changed and I hope they stick to their damn word/schedule

erm 7 months is nothing when whiplash is smashing extremely hard. yall are asking for aespa to be overexposed 

 

i'd rather them take 7 months to deliver a quality album with a well planned rollout while letting their previous release breathe than release a mid project every 3 months to satisfy the need of fans to be overstimulated with content at all time 

 

yall are constantly bragging about whiplash smashing but don't realise that this song is still everywhere playing all the time in korea. i understand the need to let the song slow down on its own for fear of overshadowing the next release. just look at supernova and armageddon  + the risk of being overexposed.
