there was a time where they released a couple of mid songs back to back but it's really unfortunate that the global and domestic interest just doesn't seem to pick up no matter what they do

 

they just need that one HIT and another ICONIC performance like their MAMA 2021 performance 

I guess they're still doing okay, but they should be up there with aespa!

Their titles have always been very polarizing. Besides Dalla Dalla and maybe Wannabe their is no title that fans really unite on. They debuted in a time when there was a need for a new girl group but they then got overshadowed by all the big GG of the 4th gen that debuted after them.

GD is 40 and running circles around everybody except BTS. If anything kpop is less ageist than other pop markets outside of the chronically online crowd.

sneakers was the last straw for them internationally, even though the song itself wasn't even as bad as the teaser, people just became uninterested after that

I think so idle underperforming is a combination of things, first the contract renewal thing turned some of their fans off (when they dissed the company since the tomboy era until days before renewing).

 

Second the release of their songs without soojin was also disliked by some of their fans since they felt gilde implied every comeback something related to soojin (this could be how each person interpreted the soojin references as there was nothing very direct about it)

 

The name change, apparently people were looking the song as gidle and didnt showed up.

 

The song itself, i won't say it's bad since taste is subjective but the response to the song hasnt been as instant as their previous songs

 

I don't think is related to the age of the artists per se but as their fandom grows in age interests may change and some people just loses interest in kpop altogether

ITZY releasing one of their best songs (Imaginary Friend) after the 2 atrocities that are Sneakers and Gold always makes me kiiii.

 

Their discography is way too hit or miss (mostly miss) to compare to some of the other big GGs.

They are almost #1 for the year in China it's been only one week the album is out.

 

 

They released the censored songs for China, which is funny because they previously released the uncensored version of Tomboy for China and CD only.

Not true. Fans unite on Icy, Not Shy, In The Morning, Loco, Swipe and Ringo, Born To Be and Untouchable cause they're all legitimately good songs. The issue with them is that they really suffered a sophomore slump. With such a fantastic debut. Them coming back with such underwhelming music and minis/albums with fillers were not it. Especially after such a strong opening it turned alot of people off then Lia's departure and her return it was alot. The consistency being mid was not it. Which sucks cause the girls are actually talented but again them as a 4 piece with Lia reunited things quality speaking have aligned for them thankfully.
