Did the bullying rumors ever get debunked or was that just hearsay?

Everything about how kpop stans treat BTS is rooted in intense jealousy so these monthly circlejerks are no surprise :dies:

BTS rose from being complete nugu flops themselves, so if these other groups (many of which were backed by bigger companies at the time!) couldn't do it maybe there's cause for some internal self reflection :-*

You are so right. This is something people still can't properly respond to, that's why now I see some fans claiming that HYBE (which didn't even exist back then) were involved in shady dealings and chart manipulation, and that's how BTS made it to where they are today. There are some users who believe that even in this thread :rip:

Like babes… Even if they did do something for Melon or Hanteo or whatever (which has never been proved), it's not like other groups, especially those from way bigger companies, weren't doing it ten times more. Yet here we are… none of them made it like BTS. So, yes, it's time for that self-reflection :coffee2:

They were just simply better at a lot of things :michael: Great performances, a very good discography, excellent personalities, and very strong social media presence. What's not clicking:bam:

So the (G) funeral had nothing to do with Soojin. We can turn the page now.

But to talk about BTS, one of the reason they went up as much is back then while BTS was completely nugu, it was also the only group that was accepting to replace last minute any groups that couldn't make it to a show. Many times they were replacements or last minute addition. I've never seen a group getting so much disrespect from a TV broadcast, but each opportunity was like golden for them.

Soyeon fighting for her girls, this being one condition for her signing back with CUBE.

This reminds of when Sorn talked about how foreign k-pop idols don't get paid as much as Korean idols for the same work due to issues with royalty payments and was able to fix the issue for Thai k-pop idols.

Bang Sihyuk had to grind a lot of crappy music industry jobs on the way to founding his own label.  He's not going to let his trainees take any short cuts.  Unless they're TXT.  But seriously, compare the debuts of BTS and Got7 and the material differences aren't that significant, other than one group having more relevant music and less aerial martial arts.

I'm not in the mood for our monthly BTS vs. entire K-Pop discourse right now, please talk about your faves without mentioning BTS :chick1: I'm saving my energy for next month when they come back :gaycat1:

As always, it's not who was first, it's who was the best and who made the most out of it :coffee2:

lmao there's no BTS vs. Infinite/BAP/whatever here. I have nothing against BTS itself and in no moment I said they don't deserve their popularity. Their success was earned. What I do lament are the copycats that followed their path to the point that now the BTS-like concept and sound became the boy group standard. I just rather wish Infinite became the template for the later boy groups and I guess I am entitled to my own opinion.

Maybe ARMYs should grow a thicker skin. The BTS reign is not under threat, no need to get this triggered by a group of people discussing their k-pop preferences in a music forum.

Good days. I only own 2 Infinite albums, but had a lot of thier songs in my phone and iTunes back then too. 2014 when they had that Be back album was the last time I was really into them. I think the song was called back or something but it use to be on replay for me

Like this has nothing to do with jealousy. I couldn't care less if BTS is the biggest K-pop group alive. They can be the most successful act in the planet and I still don't give a ***** on their music nor their fans :rip:

Nah, JYPE and SM were putting in stop gaps to prevent cheating. BTS were literally built off the back of fraud and their own label has confirmed it. That's not to say that they didn't go on to success, but claiming they are some massively organic success is incredibly delusional and revisionist.

His brother is Bang Jun-hyuk. Saying he had to grind when his company's explosion in success is directly linked to when his brother got rich…. :ahh:
