The way Kahi served with these solo's. They might not have been comercial succesfull but the had an impact on the 2nd gen girlies. I rememebr Jiyeon naming her one of her influences and pushing for a more masculine image (Never ever) after seeing kahi. AOA's choa also said she was a huge fan of her. 

 

I  doubt she was given the money she deserved for being the creative force behind AS.

Well this is just it...they are doing too much, debuting too many groups. They are spending WAY more than they are making back. Clearly the expenses have become out of control, which is why they lost around $30M this quarter.

 

This kind of huge loss takes time to build too, they failed to manage the losses. I remember the "corner shop" profit drag from Instiz last year...so it's been getting worse and the money has been draining for a while...

 

It's not a good look when even YG is a more profitable company now and they are only scraping by thanks to BP's tour

Wow and it's just gotten worse since then…. Their strategy is giving 90s internet bubble company, and sales across the board in K-pop are down in general. I wonder what will happen, will BTS alone be able to recoup that? They're in their 30s and obviously more interested in dating and doing other things than catering to parasocial aunties forever

Ironically if they'd not allowed NewJeans to implode, those girls would probably generating a lot of revenue from albums and touring. 

 

HYBE has expanded too fast imo...they can't rely on BTS forever and should focus on making sure their other groups can sustain success, without payola or overspending.

Ever since HITZY released Gold, I completely gave up on them ever becoming popular again. JYPE clearly doesn't care and keeps insisting on putting out these loud girl crush songs that the public just isn't into. I've never seen a group get as many chances as HITZY from listeners, yet the company keeps failing them with underwhelming title tracks.

 

Honestly, JYPE artists in general need to stop working with DemJointz - the songs always end up flopping hard. Leave DemJointz to SM.

 

Like, imagine if they had released Air as the group's comeback instead - it would've done so much better than Gold, Girls Will Be Girls, or Tunnel Vision.
