Krystal didn't disappear at all? After she left SM she signed to H& Ent. (now known as Blitzway, where Yeri is) and focused on acting and modelling. She became Ralph Lauren's global ambassador and starred in acclaimed dramas and movies, including an appearance at Cannes.

 

She has since signed to BANA, which also houses producers who work with NJZ. She has been continuing acting, but looks like she finally wants to return to singing. People forget she already accomplished a lot from a young age as an idol, so probably wanted to try something different by focusing on acting.

 

As for her private life, it's private, but in the second season of Jessica & Krystal, it appears she at least partially lives in New York City.
