Honestly, I think EJAE's sound is just so Western that she would be better as an American-focused soloist.

I mean I don't think she's ever really performed in front of people... she's been behind the scenes for however many years. The Jimmy Fallon show  was her first full fledged performance I think.

She talks about it herself in interviews. I'm actually incredibly happy with the arc of her life and so happy for her. She was super shy and nervous so she got years to work behind the scenes making hits and collecting royalties before it was her turn.

 

I would have loved to see her in a real girl group, though. Her harmonizing is incredible on "Drama" and I am crushed to think she might not harmonize with Ningning again.

I think it's a bit too blatant for them to just place the Top 2 biggest fanbases right now highest for clicks. I respect the songs they chose for them though.

none of the releases really hit for me. A few cute songs. 
Fourth gen was the biggest lackluster this year for me. It's like they stopped trying making good music 

Meovv finally about to release a song that I will like at first listen. I've been very skeptical on them but the new snippet is great
