The only other releases are katseye's worst single from their EP and aespa who has a banner over the whole website I fear.

Have been thinking abt it some more, and my current thoughts on dirty work is that its weak because its faceless

 

For aespa title tracks, i'd expect at least 1-2 of the following:

-a (usually hyperpop-adjacent) sound only they can do

-features the lore in some way

-campy / fun / has some level of self-awareness 

-screeching

These are what makes a title track quintessentially aespa, and they're pretty much absent in dirty work

 

That's not to say that they didn't sell the tough/gritty concept well. They did. But you can swap them out with itzy and nothing would change (except maybe some struggle vocals here and there, but what's new for itzy fans)

 

And the lyrics are fckin terrible (i know they were never great, but still!)

-Just cause I'm pretty doesn't mean I don't do hard things. Hard things, make me feel like a thunder

yes, mafia is truly cringe with aespa. not saying kpop doesnt have a lot of tone-deaf lyrics, but this is next level (lol) cringe. like more cringe than those lines about grillzz in teeth or whatever
