It's evident Disease wasn't suppose to be a big hit… nobody release a lead single before the Xmas freeze.

i hate gays what do you mean christmas freeze, lose you to love me was released 5 years ago same day as disease and debuted at #15 (mind u was released on a thursday with one day of tracking on its belt)

Yes, you always want to release something that flops after a big comeback hit. It's a well known strategy.

Disease IS the lead, no matter how you spin it. It just didnt get the lead single treatment mostly.

 

The song didnt click that much with GP as it did with her fanbase. I personally am obsessed with it. It has Spotify push and a radio deal to keep it afloat. I am not sure about the strategy of not releasing any kind of video, CD or vinyls for physical sales(SL did 50k based on those only, so its a shame), merch, etc etc.

 

Im gonna trust their plan. Maybe they are aware that Christmas freeze is coming soon and will do more to promote second single leading up to the album itself with videos, interviews, performances. DWAS is still smashing and Disease possibly flopping wont hurt her much considering she gets to basically "re-start" the era in January with a new single and more album promo.

 

Doesnt bother me, absolutely love the song and I think the album is gonna be even more experimental

I think Disease was supposed to be related to the new Joker movie....

I feel like she was having second thoughts about releasing a single after Joker flopped. But she already promised it was coming in October and it was too late to go back, so she just unceremoniously dropped it without so much as a video and walked away.
