Anyway, I absolutely *despise* what has become of the music industry these days. There's literally no opportunities for artists to perform or promote anymore. 
 

What do you mean that Jade has released THREE songs since JULY and we've only had ONE single televised live performance??? If this was 10, 15 years ago there'd be about 4 performances A DAY. It's so sad. The Girls Aloud documentary is a really good insight in to what TV promotion was like in the UK in the mid 2000s, I can't believe how drastically things have declined now.

Yeah it's wild. I keep seeing old videos of people like Rihanna and Britney performing for a crowd of like 15 kids on Blue Peter, I forgot people used to promote literally any and everywhere 

 

Chappell seems to have done well by performing at literally any festival that will take her, though I don't know if that would work in the UK given lots of the big festivals aren't super pop heavy. And I'm sure opening for Olivia helped a lot too

It's an absolute scream to me that she's been visiting US radio stations. All of that and they still won't play her music dddd 

 

She deserves to be played, though! I can't believe this flopped so badly. 

It's just so... toothless. She needs to work with a better producer.

As other users have said yeah how have artists gotten to this stage? Like I genuinely believe traditional TV promo still works in a weird way - more opportunity for viral moments with the platforms etc. Ava Max used to perform Kings & Queens everywhere and it paid off massively - but since she stopped doing that loads she has started flopping.

They really need to focus on getting her established hard in the UK before they branch out like that.

On some good news this is at #11 on UK radio airplay this week 

 

AT LEAST she is getting some exposure 

I hope it goes top10 before the Xmas songs take over and return to top10 after the Xmas songs are gone

Jade isn't generic enough for Capital to play. It's almost a compliment

This song is a great album track. I would have rather had Midnight Cowboy pushed with a video instead of this. 

I still think Angel of my Dreams is the best song she has put out so far out of the 3. 

The more I play this the more I love it. I do thing she could have lean more into the disco for the verses, but I understand what she is going for and respect that.

I think she should drop the album regardless of single performances after AOMD. It would be an amazing album and get her the following she needs for second successful album.

i saw she's on the capital playlist but did notice she's not doing their jingle bell ball. she also performed at the radio 1 live lounge already. so… seems an easy way to get capital blacklisted! i'm surprised they even bothered to add it.   

 

i think it's fine that this bombed. the song is playing on radio which was clearly the goal and she still has enough momentum that she can come back in new year and try again. the timing with holiday season is a good excuse to reset.

And the way i thought Jingle Bell was A GIVEN 

Anyways yes as long as the song is on the radio is not a complete fail

i don't think that is feasible with an explicit song title lol. i'm not sure how she can navigate that single release and can't think of any recent examples with explicit titles. the only that come to mind are Britney - If U Seek Amy and Lily Allen - **** you
