I don't know if there's any other fan of Tenitra Michelle Williams here but I felt like having a place where we could apreciate her and her unique voice.

 

 

'Heart To Yours' was her first album. I really didn't pay much attention to it. I was expecting something similar to Destiny's Child sound and this kinda let me down. However It was nice hearing her voice on a solo album. I think "Heard A Word" is my favourite song on this project. I love the way her voice cracks at 3:13 saying "glad".

 

 

Her second album is still my favourite from her. I think I like almost every song on 'Do You Know'. I like the way she uses her lower register here like she did on her previous album. I find it more pleaseant. I like when she uses her higher register during a song's climax. I think her she overuses it on her next two projects. I love when she says "the ups, the downs" at 2:20 on "It's Good To Be Here". "Have You Ever" might be my most listened song of hers. It has an R&B vibe that I really dig. Her adlibs here are her best. That "habe you ever?" at 4:10 is simply ♥️

 

 

Not sure what to say about this album. It was a risky move and it didn't pay off. I think lots of mistakes were made. Michelle could've pulled off an R&B album or an album full of ballad ala Adele but the dance route was never for her. Her voice sounds a bit irritating and loud on most of the tracks. I feel the title track may be the best of this project.

 

 

I remember having high hopes after "If We Had Your Eyes" was released. I thought it was her best single to date. Boy was I wrong. I think this is her worst album. I hate the production and I think she needs someone to teach her how to use her voice. She sounds unpleaseant.

 

I really hope she record another album. I'm sure she's got much more potential. She would excel on an album like Whitney's "My Love Is Your Love". Songs like Muni Long "Made For Me" would fit her so well.

 

By the way, she shoud go by Tenitra. That name is much more powerful.

album should have been a hit with many classics but Mathey & Columbia messed it up

She could take advantage of technology as a way to connect with fans. It would be so nice to have acoustic performances of her solo songs, songs from DC catalog and some covers of her favourite songs.

I know that's how most fans feel but I don't see that album having any hits. We Break The Dawn's video was a big disappointment. We needed different outfits and looks and some choreo. The song itself falls a bit flat towards the end. Maybe a key change, some belting... I don't know, something explosive.

We Break The Dawn (still her best song) & Hello Heartreak. Yeah, WBTD video maybe cheap & lazy but in fact that song managed to enter in top 50 of UK chart with virtually no promotion, no radio & no physical sales, proving the missed potential (given that Michelle solo career is virtually dead outside US, including UK). HH had a very actual sound when it was released and could easily have become a hit with right promo & video (or if song had been sung by any other popular singer like Beyonce, Rihanna etc.)

I revisit this once a week. She is such a gem.

She owes us an R&B album. I'm sure she would've been more successful if she had released a pop-R&B project like Survivor. She would nail songs like "Dangerously In Love", "Brown Eyes" and "My Heart Still Beats".

I think Michelle needs someone that believes in her and her potencial. The lack of promotion and that 5 dollar video for WBTD show that neither her record label nor her team believed she could be successful. Mathew was a fool. He thought there was only one popstar in DC when there were 2 popstars and the biggest music star of the world in DC.

Beyoncé is the best vocalist of the group but Michelle really shone when she was given the opportunity. She ate every bridge on Destiny Fulfilled. She devoured her part on Through With Love. We saw what she could do when she sang her part on Survivor.

She literally matches Bey note for note on Survivor, people forget what a strong singer she really is. I love her raspy tone too.

I normally prefer her with straight her but she looks beautiful here.
