I think she looked even pretier during this recent shoot.

 

I wish she came back. I know she feels very vulnerable and anxious about the music industry and not meeting the expectations. But things have changed. She wouldn't be compaired to Kelly and Beyoncé. She could focus her narrative around coming back stronger after her struggles with mental health, being reborn. It would be an awesome opportunity to rebrand as Tenitra.

I revisited Journey to Freedom a couple of weeks ago and fell in love with it all over again. With all that she's been through and revealed since, I feel like there's a lot she could sing about and connect with people. I'm looking forward to her musical return; all of her albums are great, really, being as inspirational and uplifting as they are.

I think Journey To Freedom is my least favourite album from her. I do love If We Had Your Eyes but I find the production of the album to be... ugly. I can't explain it. It sounds dated and noisy. I think a classy, timeless sound suits her voice and style better. Something like Givēon last album. I guess that's why I love her cover of Let's Stay Together so much.

It sounds fresh, in my opinion. I remember loving it when it very first released and revisiting it gave me the same feeling as it did then. The album flows well. Going back to Do You Know, a grand style does really suit her voice for how thematic and soulful it is. A timeless sound does bring out the best in her, yes.

Well... my problem with those albums is that I don't think those sounds suit her very well. She tends to sound too noisy.

Both albums, Unexpected and Journey To Freedom, would benefit from a classier, more soul/R&B leaning production.

 

I love when she mixes her lower and her higher register like she does in songs like Have You Ever.

Have You Ever is one of my all-time favourite Michelle songs, along with 15 Minutes, The Incident, Never Be the Same and Rescue My Heart from that album.

 

I hear you, I also think the hip-hop soul sound of Destiny Fulfilled was perfect for her voice and style.

 

However, I think electronic music also works really well with her voice - Hello Heartbreak, We Break the Dawn, 'Til the End of the World, Love Gun to name a few.

I love almost every song on Do You Know but she sounds so beautifully on Have You Ever. I think it has her best adlibs. 

 

I enjoy Unexpected, We Break The Dawn and Til The End Of The World but I still think she would've shone more with an R&B production. I couldn't agree more with you about the Destiny Fulfilled sound being perfect for her. A solo album from her on that same vein is all I want.

 

Givēon and Muni Long would be great contributors to a possible new work from her.
