My friend recently set me up on a date with a man I hadn't seen in six years. I remembered him as being quite attractive, so I decided to give it a go. I was a bit late arriving at the restaurant as it took me a while to find somewhere to park. As I walked into the restaurant and made eye contact with my date, I noticed he looked slightly startled. I think I've put on a bit of weight since we last met, so maybe that was it?

 

Anyway as the date went on I realised this man had a...special interest which he kept bringing up. He's a big fan of an American singer called Normani. He showed me a website on his phone called "last fm" and that he'd played every Normani song at least 1000 times.

 

I don't usually consider myself judgemental and he was pretty good looking. But, this obsession made me wonder whether we would be compatible, as it seemed he might not be taking care of his ears. Plus, he had a big sticker of a woman with a blue tongue on the back of his phone.

 

My question is, would it be wrong to tell him I'm not interested and be honest about the reasons? And if you were in my position, would you date someone who is an obsessed stan?

I'm not a Normani stan I'm just slow

1000+ streams for a Normani track is an irredeemable red flag. I'll pass.
