The verse threw me out of the song for a monet but luv the pre chorus and chorus. I will stream the album to see what she came up with but this era is gonna be another diminishing returns scenario for her. I wish she would have taken a bigger risk and go very forward with her dance music and avoid the usual commercial traps. Also the Dr luke collaboration has already tarnished her repuation even further. And she's 40 so ageism and misogyny aside,she was bound to fail.

can we make sure this flops into oblivion so they're forced to fasttrack nirvana?

It's almost unbelievable how bad of an artist she is (and has always been). Song is beyond dated and music video looks like it was conceptualized and put together by a teenager. Also her entire vibe is very much has-been / "cool mom". She's lucky she had success in the early 10s when you could succeed with generic identityless manufactured garbage like this.

 

If I found out my mom got a man who has been accused of rape and abuse by multiple women to produce a song dedicated to me I'd ask to be emancipated.

I find it very interesting that the song was posted to Apple Music with no credits. I could only wonder why... 

 

The verse is pretty basic, but the pre-chorus and chorus slaps. The bridge was disappointing.

 

Overall 7/10, but after WW it feels like a 9.

I like it but why is there only 1 verse? Also music video should've been better it looks like an unofficial fan edit. Also anyone could've produced this why Dr Luke??! Katy we were rooting for you hun…

Brazilian Katycats will have a lot of work to make this one happen but it's a start

"for eternity" is the best part 

I should never expect an explosive chorus like in her older songs although its still very earworm and has greater replay value. The MV reminds me alot to Teenage Dream. 

It might be another Luke track but at least this is significantly better than Woman's World.

 

It's not touching Katy's absolute best (Teenage Dream, Never Really Over, Wide Awake)… but it's pretty darn good. Same ballpark quality wise as Walking On Air.

 

I don't expect anything from this era to stick but it would be nice if this did better than Woman's World… at the very least.

 

Please drop Puke for KP7 Kathryn… you're better than this.

Ugh, I really wanted to like this, but this won't do anything for her either. 
 

NRO was such a huge step in the right direction sonically, but this feels so… weird. I don't even know how to describe it.
Katy is so much more capable of than a light, dance beat, which feels cheap.
It feels like they didn't even try, but I hope they'll prove me wrong with the rest of the album. 
 

I need her to go back to full on big pop bangers with heavy instrumentals. I don't know how to really describe this, but this feels so uninspired and lifeless.

As others have said, this could've had legs if released instead of WW. They fumbled HARD!

I know, a key change or a variant in the final chorus would have been awesome too!

Still enjoyable. I think I just need to listen to the album in whole to get her vision haha!

That actually happens a lot with new releases and doesn't update for like 24 hours 

i really love this and will be streaming non stop but she's become such a lazy songwriter. this needed a second verse and a bridge
