Given the hype before Olivia GODrigo dropped Guts: Spilled, I think a lot of us thought Obsessed would smash. It's done moderately well with the push her team has given it (TTH, music video, etc), but why isn't So American being pushed as the next single? That's a smash waiting to happen, I fear

They should avoid any track that is too loud at this point. They just didn't work this era.

Obsessed and Bad Idea Right went top 10 and the album overall has been streaming well. I think Olivia is gonna take a short break after tour and come back soon with a new sound

It's a great song but it's not really something that I could see becoming a hit rn.

 

I feel like her next album is going to be a bit more of a venture away from the ballad/pop-rock territory. I can see her leaning into more of an upbeat, pure pop sound a la Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan, especially with the latter sharing her producer.

the only song that wasn't pushed as a single from guts that was a missed opportunity for her is love is embarassing imo
