Now, now- let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

It was the perfect accompaniment to Animal, however, I can't help but feel like them rushing it out as quickly as they did and obviously trying to get Kesha her own The Fame Monster moment was a bit silly. There were at least another two singles left in the main Animal album, which could have carried them through to 2011. Cannibal could have been her second studio album—there were plenty of great Animal and Cannibal outtakes such as "Shots on the Hood of My Car" and "7 A.M." to name a couple. Add "**** Him He's a DJ" and "Till The World Ends" (assuming Kesha kept it for herself) and Cannibal would have been a great follow-up LP. Plus the wait between albums until Warrior wouldn't have felt as long and damaging to her career.

Career wise - yes, it probably would have worked out better it Cannibal was released in mid/late 2011. And yet, I find Cannibal more cohesive and "advanced" than Animal, even the Billboard Remix fits the sound of the EP and sounds like a cute finisher to the album

loved it for the most part then, love it for the most part now :clap3: The Harold Song and Crazy Beautiful Life are those anthems!!

one track with a froot in the title VERY much should've been scrapped and replaced with one or both of the superior anthems First Love and Shots on the Hood of My Car though… :cm:

Several classics

Blow is kinda her best song

And this :clap3:

Bop on bop on bop. Skipless. Ate so hard. She came in so hard with this one. @TomTom

I remember liking Blow back in the day but ngl I find the entire thing borderline unlistenable nowadays.

She served, duhhhh! In hindsight they should have delayed it like 6 months and had another top 10 from Animal but it was worth it for this joint version of the album:

Kesha's first era was so much mindless fun. It's aged like milk, but that was always somewhat of the point, I feel.

It's a much polished sound on what Animal tried to make. I enjoy it though, and C U Next Tuesday is a career highlight! Although I wish they kept the original mix and not the over done remix

Ugh its kinda iconic and genius the way she made Cannibal cover looks like torn in the middle so in the A+C version this crack would be like linking one into another. Her mind

Honestly I fckn love Shots on the Hood to this day it still knocks.

I think as far as rereleases go this is perhaps the finest example of recapturing a sound for songs that weren't from the initial album sessions. I read they made the whole thing in like two weeks and if so then it's pretty solid.

"Cannibal" saved my life, and it's the only song I can rap along :jonny5:
