Which one is your favorite?

Even though I think it has some pacing issues, PRISM is my favourite. She matured the Teenage Dream sound and experimented with different types of pop (90s disco on Birthday; house with WOA; trap pop with DH). It showed what Katy could do when she experimented with the producers she worked with and I wish she would carry on working with new people if the results are like this.

Additionally, the deluxe tracks are some of my favourites of hers ever (CYB is in my Top 5 Katy songs while I'd love Katy to explore the electronica sound she had in Spiritual).

It would have been perfect if she'd mixed the tracklist up so it wasn't all bops in the first half and then all ballads in the second half but that's probably my only note.

2 for OOTB & Witness

1 for Prism & TD

0 for Smile

PRISM for album tracks

TD for singles

One Of The Boys for me.

PRISM and Witness are her most cohesive works sonically and aesthetically, followed by Smile. OOTB & TD are cute for its singles and popularity but i can't really tell that i listen to them very frequently as the whole bodies of work

it changes overtime to me between TD, Prism, Witness and Smile

ironically enough my ranking of her albums follows the order they were released

1. OOTB

2. TD

3. PRISM

4. Witness

5. Smile

there's just something special about OOTB I find myself going back to it all the time

TD is iconic for obvious reasons

prism is cute but full of filler

witness and smile are both albums I never go back to outside of a select few songs

Witness or Teenage Dream

witness people did too much on that album.

One Of The Boys a pop rock classic

Teenage Dream

OOTB

Witness

Prism

Smile

The middle 3 change positions every so often

Smile, low-key

Prism > Teenage Dream > Witness > One of the Boys > Smile

second half of PRISM clears

Prism >>>

Tenge Drem ov curse

PRISM

Legendary Lovers

Walking on Air

International Smile

Ghost

Double Rainbow

By the Grace of God

One Of The Boys or Witness for me

I'm torn between 'Teenage Dream' and 'PRISM'

can we separate PRISM into 2 parts?

if yes, PRISM 2 half > OOTB > Teenage Dream > Witness > PRISM 1 Half > Smile

if not OOTB wins.

i feel the same thing. some kind of getting into your adult life magic

It's still Teenage Dream after all this time.

I don't understand why people say it doesn't work as a body of work, that is not cohesive or that it's just a collection of singles.

It's not perfect by any means and there's 1 or 2 tracks that do seem out of place, but for the most part it's very consistent in sound and it does stick to the theme of falling in love and the nostalgia of reminiscing your teenage days. I think it's brilliant how it opens with Teenage Dream and closes with Not Like The Movies, although the tracklist could've used some rearrangements (Firework should be more down the list while Hummingbird heartbeat should move up).

The album is at least an 7.5/10, even 8 if we're being extra generous. It really has some perfectly crafter pop music, some of the best of its era I would say.

Teenage Dream has some absolute garbage on it but also the best songs of her career so that
