Not really. The album won't do as well as FN but even if it had bigger hits that would've probably been the case anyway. Maybe a different song will take off organically when the album comes out and be made into a single. If not, she should just move on and release DL4 in 2025.

 Outside of Europe, Dua Lipa isn't widely recognised as an artist and lacks a distinct identity. To become a mainstream pop figure, she needs to differentiate herself from artists like Bebe Rexha, Rita Ora, and Ava Max. Many people in the US wouldn't be able to identify her if asked. So, yes, she's in danger.

I accept that in being so close to the origins of Rn'B, America is way more sonically aligned to that genre and simply cannot relate to genre's that are more European in DNA.

 

As a European (where Dua's sound is prevalent and mainstream), it is hard to read how disconnected and "Weird" the U.S. finds Dua's new music (as a European her sound is what works here and is exactly what I want to hear).
 

I've come to the conclusion she is taking her influences as a European and trying to globalise them but America relentlessly gives pushback and simply cannot relate due to its own geographic closeness to the origins of contemporary Rn'B.

If there was any artist who was the true definition of an industry plant, it would be Ms. Dula Lipa

No, she is fine. It's just this album will undoubtedly be a underperformance compared to Future nostalgia. 

Not really Houdini and Training Season have both stabilized on Spotify Global at 2.3-2.8 m streams as is this she has 3 singles out and they are all doing the same i think shes fine

Yes, the enormous amounts of money Warner spend on her demand enormous returns. Sure, the singles are still in the top 50 on Spotify, but how much did it cost them to attain and maintain this mediocre level of success?

 

Album is going to bomb. That's for sure.

 The Culture needs to recognize that 3/4 of them have released more bops in the last decade than our semi-retired faves. Retrospect is clearer, maybe you guys will catch up by 2030

I don't think she's in "danger", but I think this album rollout is really making it clear she was never as big as FN made her seem.

 

We were all depressed and just wanted to dance. People connected with the music, not her as an artist.

 

She will still be around to make a cute little pop song from time to time.

 

But she's no MPG.

I'm dying a bit with people calling a flop to someone having the 3 singles from an upcoming album in the Spotify top50 for months.

 

Honestly nobody is doing it like her. And moreover, she's making that accomplishment with dance tracks, which is unbelievable.

But to answer your question: she has the two most streamed female albums of history… and she has only two albums to her catalog so far. I think this says a lot. No, baby, she's in no danger AT ALL.

If any other MPGs' new single with high-budget video & payola about to debut #60 on BB, they would be called FAD to the face.

Why are Dua's fans struggling so much to admit she's underperforming?  The amount of gaslighting is crazy.

 

Praising a top 50 position on Spotify as if she's not supposed to be one of the biggest streaming artists of the decade is a kii.
