I personally don't really think this sounds like a Kelly Clarkson song but that's probably because I'm so used to Perries vocals. This just sounds like Perrie to me.

Also, people can call it "generic" or "basic" all they want in here, but for me it's instant and catchy and this is exactly what all of them should've went with sonically. And I'm not saying this to petty the girls against each other, but you need something that gives an instant, catchy impression when you release a first single. I feel like Jesy's and Leigh-Anne's releases are more laid back, which is not bad, but we see how it went (even with all the promo Leigh-Anne had). 

Furthermore, it's another great example for how a song should build up more and more with an explosive, heavy instrumental last chorus and great ad lips as a climax (which a lot of Little Mix songs have as well). 

Imo, this will do much better than the first singles from Jesy and Leigh. 
I really hope Jade will go the same direction as Perrie.
 

This has the potential to become a summer song and landing in the UK Top 5 next week for sure. 
 

Jade will probably go off tbh...full reinvention, hard choreo, visuals, she will take risks etc...

If you want to you can DM about this, I genuinely don't think I've even referred to you for the past two years but sorry you feel like that. The last time before today that I feel like I even referred to you was around Confetti / Between Us eras.

This is a really enjoyable summer bop! I definitely understand the critiques about the verses and the way it just cuts in at the beginning is quite jarring, but I'm really enjoying the song overall. I hope it's a smash for her.

The things I'm reading in here.

 

I truly L.O.V.E. and stan Little Mix. I know the band's « universe » would be different than each artist's but !?? So far, Leigh and Jade haven't been bad, but boring? 100%. Actually, their band tracks are MILES better. Once again this is not bad, but 100% forgettable unfortanely. Nothing to remember.

 

i truly hope Jade is coming on a Bey kind of level : I need a GREAT song, a strong identity as well.

 

PS : I have to admit at least that song has a huge replay value and can be a hit easily. So let's juste hope for the best for her to get that SMASH

Perrie will have also released the safest song for her lead, so if you don't like this one there is others on the album that you'll probably love or appreciate.

 

Hoping this becomes a minor hit at least but we will just have to wait and see. I was a bit surprised she wasn't on the cover of NMF personally.
