Definitely. I see him getting a potentially buzzed about collab with a big streaming artist to pick him back up because I imagine this album is getting shelved until he gets another hit

He thought the controversy of the subject matter and video would be enough of a promo but he already did it with Montero. Aside from some nutjob pro-religious conservatives, people simply did not care.

He doubled down on gimmicks instead of using this era to show people what’s he capable of back to basics as far as musicality and talent. I feel like on your 3rd album, you really need to show people why you deserve to stick around. He did not show that here.

The fact that he probably scrapped the album 

Enormous. The funniest part is Nas X blamed the floppery on some nonexistent controversy  

and i fear he lost the gays and pop fans in the process.
