I'm aware these albums are 100% different but they were both major eras for these legends, people thought they were washed up has beens prior to these albums. But which was a bigger comeback?

Objectively private dancer is the bigger comeback, considering Tina Turner was stuck performing in b rated revues on the Vegas strip… going from being an actual has been from the late 60s (Madonna was nothing of the sort in the 90s and she just started in Evita, with her role being well received), to one of the best selling acts of the 80s was the true comeback

I thought this was a about quality and voted for RoL. But yeah Private Dancer was the most impressive comeback. It literally turned Tina into a legend capable of selling out stadiums around the world.

There's really no comparison to be made here. Madonna had a top 10 hit 2 years prior to ROL and every album she released was either #1 or in the top 10. Tina hadn't charted at all in the US in nearly a decade when she came back with Private Dancer, of course she had the bigger comeback.

Ms Turner for sure. She probably had the biggest comeback female album of all time.

Madonna's three releases between 1994-1997 went 3x, 3x, and 5x platinum while Tina's previous album failed to chart, so Tina by far.

Obviously Tina. Madonna may have been underperforming (by her standards) in the 90s but Tina was completely down and out and then PD made her a superstar. :jonny:

That's not true at all. Madonna had a string of #1 albums and singles prior to Ray of Light and Evita was also a box office #1 hit. The soundtrack sold 11M too,

Tina's solo albums never performed well on the charts prior to Private Dancer, in fact neither did her work with Ike.

Tina definitely had the bigger comeback though.

Private Dancer is the bigger comeback (Madonna's never had a comeback) and the better album
