No one would’ve watched the EMA’s either  no one watches award shows anymore, but the perfomances can go viral on the internet (see DSN at the EMAs). I’m pretty sure promo is not happening because Dua doesn’t want to do it, she already said in a interview that she’s not going to do performances anymore if she’s not feeling ready, and with her father managing her, of course they will do the way she wants. I just don’t understand why this what was released now considering she doesn’t feel ready to perform and promote the song? Like… DTN is still a hit, there was no reason to rush anything.

I don't think that's really what she said though, she was referring to how during her first era sometimes she was given absolutely no time to prepare, like having something ridiculous like 30 minutes to prepare for a TV performance, which gave her a lot of anxiety.  iirc she didn't really suggest that it was still the case in the Future Nostalgia era where things clearly were more planned out and rehearsed.

But this strategy makes zero sense, why was the song released now if they’re only going to promote next year with the album anyways? Yeah it’s nose diving. Christmas has nothing to do with it. Chart position will suffer but streams should still be stabilized. RIP Houdini.

Yeah but there's no point promoting a song that's not hitting, she might as well save that for a song that connects

 

Promo is not going to save this song imo.

it is stabilized, streams have not gone down in any meaningful way despite the holidays. Some of you just seem desperate for it to flop when it is not going to happen, this thread is Dance The Night 2.0

DTN was doing much worse until the Barbie movie boost. It had fallen out of top 50 WW at some point without any Xmas invasion LOL.

She performed DSN at Graham Norton, Jimmy Fallon, ARIAs MAMAs and EMAs

 

Those shows are all on rn except for the EMAs, but she could’ve literally done the first 4 and substituted the EMAs with NRJs since she was in Europe anyway
