that's a great strategy. Many new artists wait too long to release an album after their breakout hit and end up as one hit wonders

  • Why on earth would she wait until next year??  Atrl is just as out of touch as an average 60-year old music exec it seems. Getting an album out as soon as possible is the most sensible choice by far

She was vague about her injury here but it sounds serious tbh. She also addressed the 'every song sounds like Water' comments :dies:

She seems so tired in this, bless her heart lol.

And I'm glad she addressed the "everything sounds the same" comments…

I been listening to Amapiano for last few years (partly due to Tyla, after "Getting Late" came out).  And it can be a little….”samesy" lol…but that's just how the genre is, imo.

If you listen to Amapiano Vibes playlist, many of those songs are similar…b/c the genre uses a lot of the same elements (shakers on downbeat, sax/guitar accents, log drums, etc).  It's very formulaic.  But still dope… :katie2:

"Mnike" is probably the most different sounding major Amapiano song in past year or so.

The album prob could've used some more "Been Thinking" type songs to balance it out…but that's more Dance/Afrobeats vs. Amapiano sub-genre.

Good debut, but, they DEF should've released this closer to when WATER was really putting her on the spotlight

You knowing Mnike , you from SA,because lots of people don't know this BANGER. And  Asive Happy. ISHU.

No, but JUMP is the girl she thinks she is. I know y'all won't get it ,but when that Haibo comes in. In an SA club the whole room will say that and it will just add to the vibes. a BANGER

Even though the album isn't out for me yet, I had the same thought lol. I like that she knows who she is and has a vision of what she wants to give as an artist. I read some new interviews & she's very serious about making sure her 'popiano' sound is established so I understand why she's pushing it so hard on this album. I just hope she experiments more going forward.

this is soooo good :jonny3: No.1 is my fave, her and Tems did that!!

:jonny5:we want a full review asap

5 new songs left to hear and I'm kind of underwhelmed

Surprised she omitted "Been Thinking". That just needed an album placement to truly take off.

Yeah this should of been out in January if they were going to be serving…this

Haha no, I'm from US.  I just went down a huge rabbit hole on Amapiano.  I love it so much.  Mnike and Dalie like my go-to gym songs :katie2:
