Beyonce, her fans act like she is the biggest artist of this century but her stats don't back that up even if you include Destiny Child.

unpopular take especially in 2023 but miley. it's overestimated by ATRL, she has HIGH highs (!!!) but she's spent almost 1 decade flopping.

Does “overrated” just mean you don’t personally like that they are successful? How can commercial performance be overrated.  

Hm, maybe Bey? Not that her numbers are bad, but compared to her status, touring numbers etc. her streams are not that great. Lemonade is doing A girl like me numbers.

Factually, she has the best sales/streams units for a female artist since Madonna (which she might even end up surpassing down the line). How exactly are they overrated...? Not sure you're grasping what is being asked. 

 

OT: Beyoncé, to a certain extent. She obviously has great stats, but the way the media and her stans talk, you'd think she's way more dominant than she actually is. In reality she's not even charting in the weekly Billboard Artist 100 chart and isn't even top 50 in the weekly Global Spotify Artist chart.

Selena. People can say she has “an ear for hits” all they like but she doesn’t even have a signature hit at the level of other MPGs. LYLALS just isn’t on the same level, in fact most of the main girls have at least 3/4 songs bigger than it. 

 

Also, no other MPGs are as reliant on features/DJs as she is.

If you include destiny’s child, she has like over 70 million albums sold in pure numbers and 11 #1 hits. Like…. 
 

And she’s the #7 most streamed female artist of all time on Spotify. Those are huge stats wtf

Yeah I'm not sure I understand either. There's nothing to overrate or underrate about sales/streams. They just are.

Dua Lipa. She has nice hits but she wouldn't hold a candle to other MPGs during their prime and she is in need of a residency in TTH to score those hits.

People tend to group Janet Jackson in with globally successful artists like Madonna, Mariah, Celine, Whitney, etc. when her sales are more Cher/Kylie Minogue tier 

 

Even the likes of Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande who debuted not too long ago are on track to outsell her
