The thing is it's kind of what was expected from her and it didn't smash hard. Not talking about quality here.

I think it was a great choice as it sets the tone that the album has this rock vibe but still has that stellar Olivia stamp. And it’s a brilliant song, I think it was an amazing lead single.

Vampire was a great lead for the new era, some of you would ruin an era instantly

Well it's doing better than bad idea right which dropped a month later.. a pop-rock song would have been too risky for a lead and not good for radio. Also personally i liked it on my first listen which is what should happen with a lead single, it needs to be an easy listen

Bad idea is clearly a promo single since there was much better rock songs on the album

No, I think releasing your best song yet is a pretty solid idea for a lead single.
