Both era are excellent pop eras, both manage to produce 2 monstrous hits and some moderate hits

PRISM score 2 gigantic hits, Roar and Dark Horse, both have scanned Diamond in US recently

Unconditionally is a moderate hit, peaking at Top 15

Birthday and TIHWD were cute radio singles to extend the era

She also has some deep cut bops which she didn't promote as official single, such as Legendary Lover and Walking on Air

Future Nostalgia score 2 gigantic hits... which sadly missed #1, Don't Start Now and Levitating

Break My Heart peaked at Top 15 as well and she had some less succesful singles such as We're Good and Love Again

some gems left off the album which doesnt get full exposure as worldwide singles are Physical and Hallucinate

Which era is bigger and better, and provide better tour?

Bigger Era: Future Nostalgia

Better Album: Future Nostalgia

Better Tour: PRISM (I attended both)

Bigger era: PRISM

Dark Horse and Roar stomp on Levitating and Don't Start Now. Katy also was a huge force as a celebrity at that time, while Dua doesn't feel like she had a lot of power other than months of hard payola for both of the smashes to grow.

Better album: PRISM

Prism is a great mix of bopping smash hits and deeply personal deep cuts with a fresh new sound that many suggested to be inspired by Madonna's Ray Of Light. Between the quality of hits like Dark Horse, Legendary Lovers, Walking On Air and the interesting new takes in Spiritual, Choose Your Battles, This Moment and It Takes Two, it's obvious why this album is Katy's highest rated by the critics. Dua has high highs, but the lows (Good In Bed, Boys Will Be Boys) are some of the worst songs ever released in pop music.

Better tour: PRISM

Katy's Prismatic World Tour combined everything that makes us love Katy Perry. We get the incredible diverse sets, colorful costumes, Katy's biggest hits and new fan favorites being performed, acoustic sets that showcase Katy's raw talent with the guitar and as a vocalist, and of course, her goofy and lovely attitude towards her fans as she interacts with them multiple times through Love Me/This Moment, the majority of the acoustic set, and the big Birthday moment when she invites a fan on stage. Dua grew as a performer, but she still lacks the vision and, most importantly, charisma.

Loved seeing Dua on tour but the budget for PRISM was bonkers

Edited by Malmo

1. Theyre pretty even but Roar and Dark Horse are kinda classics so I voted for Katy

2. I enjoy both very much but FN has the slight edge

3. Sorry but PRISM tour is miles better from fashion/probs/show like everything…

Dua's was much bigger

Katy's album and tour were more inspired and creatively interesting even if there were some lows.

FN was much bigger especially worldwide. Not even a debate

How does anyone think FN was bigger than Prism? You must probably be too young to remember how huge that era was

:clap3:Sounds about right. See zero lies

Not sure which one was bigger, both of their hits felt pretty unescapable. I feel like Katy was a bigger celebrity at that time than Dua lipa has been so far though.

PRISM has higher highs, but Future Nostalgia is overall more consistent and cohesive.

The Prismatic world tour is very underrated actually, I think it's one of the best pop shows of the last 15 years.

Prism was really the downfall of Katy's career.

Imagine going from sexy, adult-themed music and videos (Waking up in Vegas, IKAG, TD) to Nickelodeon-inspired Roar/ Dark Horse/ Birthday/TIHWD.

BUT, I have to say Prism felt bigger and better than FN.

Prism was bigger but not by much. I believe they have around the same SPS #s.

However FN is much, much better. No comparison in that regard.

Prism would have worked better as an EP tbh. The back half of the album is nearly unlistenable. Future Nostalgia clears in the quality department.

I didn't attend either tour, but I would guess Prism probably has the bigger numbers because sales were a bigger factor at that time. It does have two Diamond singles after all.
