Now that Miley has had an Emancipation of Mimi - style comeback, and Katy has been N/A in the top 10 since 2017,  has the ex-act surpassed the main pop girl?

 

How could Miley have surpassed Katy when she’s always been ahead?

She definitely outlasted her, I mean Miley released a first album with her name in 2007, and is still more relevant than Katy today. Also if we include her Hannah Montana soundtrack album sales, she easily outsold Katy overall.

 

Katy still had a bigger peak I think, I mean Bangerz didn't outdo Teenage Dream.

 

I don't think Miley's new era is a factor anywhere in this, it only added a cute number one song to her stats.

When Miley has 5 Number ones in one era, then we can talk 

No, TD and Prism are bigger than any Miley album.

 

Flowers was a fluke, evident by how every song on ESV flopped. Prism had Roar and Dark Horse, two diamond smashes

 

Miley no longevity no vision bad music

Miley was always bigger tho considering impact and celebrity status.

they are two of my faves but have had very different careers. Miley’s had three pretty distinct big peaks: Hannah Montana/early solo music, Bangerz and now Flowers. Katy had one massive peak during 2010-2014 and hasn’t ever reached those heights since, whereas Miley is having another repeak this year. It already seems as though Miley has the longer career in terms of continued relevance, but Katy’s main peak is bigger than any one peak for Miley,

Flowers being her one hit in like 10 years isn't an Emancipation by any means  Miley has had more longevity than Katy tho that's undeniable but no one is checking for ESV like they were for Flowers. 

miley has always had more artistry and classics over katy .

Considering she has added shows consistently because of demand I’m pretty sure she has. It has grossed almost 50 million already

Miley has for a few years now.

Miley would need at least one more hit era to surpass Katy's 2008-2014 run tbh. Teenage Dream alone is bigger than a lot of girls whole careers

I'd be more willing to say Miley if ESV generated any interest outside of Flowers

Katy had a bigger peak with her insane run of hits but Miley obviously outlasted her and has become much more respected.

Miley main problem is that she always leaves her eras after 1 or 2 weeks or ignore them like ESV album
