She's still withholding her music from Spotify (rightfully I must add after they didn't do anything about the misinformation they allowed on the platform) and I'm tired of listening to her albums from YouTube (even though I'm grateful she at least put it there)

I guess. Taylor Swift apparently likes her a lot, so Joni should’ve gotten Taylor (or other bigger artists) to join her. Imagine if Taylor removed all her music from Spotify again they would have no choice but to concede

no current artist that seeks to make money/chart is going to take their music off any of the bigger platforms... that's why you only see legacy acts that probably didn't benefit from their music being on streaming all that much anyway doing so

That's true too, they're loaded from when physicals were around and the touring they had done back in the day, streaming gives them nothing especially an artist like joni so I never understood why this forum thinks it's so easy for current/digital age artists to do something like that

I'm assuming they want their music available for the newer generation and continuity in listenership. That's why she still uploaded her albums on YouTube when she pulled them from Spotify, and, as mentioned earlier, still has it on AM.

 

Sure the older artists have mostly had their biggest share from their music pre-streaming but it doesn't hurt to have your music available on the biggest music streaming platform.
