Is there goodwill for Katy Perry?

Featured Replies

I am not into pop scene anymore but I feel like people have warmed up to her and I mostly see positive stuff from people, on twitter mainly. Do you like Katy and would you like her to have a successful comeback, honestly?

Absolutely. If she plays her cards right, she will have an amazing come back.

Yes I want her to shoot up again.

Yet again - she's always good for a throwback at the end of the day.

Outside of ATRL aka in the real word - absolutely

Her career is in a much better position than it was during the Smile era, with the right songs she could do some cute numbers.

everyone can have a return and a hit on tik tok. But she needs to build it.

If you mean "can she have a first day debut in the top 30 of global spotify with a new song right now?". I would say no. She needs to rebuild her audience. The fact gp attitude on her is more positive can be true but she still needs to work on it... the difference is working on it can work now.

The public is apathetic towards her, meaning they don't care enough to like or dislike her. That is the worst possible position for a celebrity to be in. She cannot and will not have a successful comeback, and IDK how many times she has to try and fail with various looks, concepts, and sounds before y'all get that through your heads. :rip:

She is pushing 40, has zero connection to gen Z, and does not possess the artistic talent or ability to do something truly groundbreaking that would result in, at least possible critical acclaim. Y'all are just beating a dead horse at this point.

NRO, WIG, and even her little country song were all "the right song" and they all bombed. The issue is not the music as she has fun, good music. The issue is people do not care, nor do they have a reason to care. And that's not going to randomly change lol. There's a reason she was one of the only people to agree to do the Coronation when all the A Listers said no; people don't care about her.

This.

They’re only “nice” because she’s not relevant enough to have hatred towards her aka she’s not a threat to anyone rn. If she ever bagged another hit animosity towards her will come back.

Clickbait article. Never once referred to her as a B-lister. As a matter of fact, this is what the Guardian had to say about Katy Perry:

"Anyway, here’s Katy Perry, tonight’s penultimate performer. She’s dressed as a Quality Street and singing Roar. Suddenly this whole nonsense actually seems like a concert for the first time."

The GP doesn’t really care. I mean, if she delivers a good song, they’ll eat it up. If not, they won’t help her revive her career.

I don’t see that tbh I see the opposite:

I think she has accepted her pop career was of it’s time and she keeps her elf going on reality tv and doing these performances. Capitol push her old songs on tiktok too. Unfortunately, she lost her cool in the worst way possible snd just never got it back. Good will is from ppl who already liked her, building a new audience for her is like putting two same ends of a magnet together

She's more of a nostalgia act now. When people see her it's like they're seeing someone they haven't seen for 10 years. They hope she is doing well with her life and then move on with theirs.

Her new music doesn't bring anything new and exciting to the table, but she is always liked by the GP

She’s commercially over. But she will always have her celebrity status.

If she wanted to be taken more seriously, she’d make better, more thought provoking music. But for now, she’s a nostalgia act.
