Did Rihanna halftime show flop?

Featured Replies

According to advanced application of statistics to normalize for population growth, it appears that Miss Rihanna was actually only the 8th most watched halftime show, with Queen Madonna being in the Top 2 but not number 1.

So what happened ATRL? Did Rihanna flop? Why? :gaycat2:

The views are completely irrelevant.

Her show failed to generate hype for her music, she’s pretty much doing the same amount of streams now as she did before the Super bowl.

seems reasonable katy was the bigger since her show was at her peak, and then madonna doing that in 2012 when she was still appealing to young people in some way and a classic for the olders.

Rihanna being one of the weakest it's not a surprise, she has only 10 years of career and the show come after 10 years of break.

Plus it's not like she even needed the boost anyway. Week after week, month after month her catalog is still outstreaming artists who are actually ACTIVE.

sales are so weak your fave did it with 3 albums with just a stadium show in Tupelo.

taylor is the exception, rihanna did great

and it's not 100% true that Taylor had this boost only from tour. I mean it was from tour but it was because her discography took over tiktok after it, she's (her name #) got 10billion tiktok views since the tour started, this is insane. just so you know tiktok driven artists like Olivia (#) have less than 20billion views overall. that's how insane it got.

Where is the list?

It was the most watched show after years of declining ratings, but I guess yes, Rihanna flopped.

Period. These haters come up with the stupidest excuses and theories. They're sooo bothered by Rih's slaying. :dies:

Lol no. At least not here. The majority here just wants large streaming numbers not substance

This has to be the first year the views are somewhat irrelevant. But y'all would've ran and made a thread about how Rihanna's show failed to bring in more views than Gaga's if that had actually happened. Same if her show was flopping on YouTube. :lmao:

Her catalog streams were already ridiculously high for someone whose last album dropped 7 years ago, pre-Super Bowl. She didn't need a boost, as opposed to some who headlined it before her, yet was able to top Spotify with 50m+ streams just off of her 2005-2016 catalog. She obviously wasn't going to maintain such numbers for a while without any new music - but she's not "pretty much doing the same amount of streams now as she did before the Super bowl" either.

These are her collective album streams on the first Wednesday of February VS this Wednesday:

Feb 1: 11.8m

May 3: 14.1m

That's a 20% increase compared to 3 months ago - without a new album or even a single since then.

Now... your fave did the Super Bowl with a new album out, promoted it during her set, and couldn't even rank among the Top 10 most streamed female artists of 2017 on Spotify. I'd be laying low if I was you. :lmao:

Asked Bing AI to sum it up for me :gaycat2:

Sure! Here are some key points about Rihanna’s boost in Spotify and sales after her Superbowl Halftime Show:

Sure! Here are some key points about Rihanna's 2023 Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show:

- Rihanna’s 2023 Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show is officially the most-watched halftime show performance of all time, according to an adjusted Nielsen report.
- The live performance — her first in more than five years — attracted 121.017 million viewers during the Feb. 12-dated broadcast.
- With the jump of nearly 3 million, Rihanna’s show surpassed Katy Perry’s 2015 performance, which previously held the record with 121 million viewers.
- During her now history-making performance at Glendale, Ariz.’s State Farm Stadium, she not only revealed she was pregnant with her and partner A$AP Rocky‘s second child, but she also performed her Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits like “Only Girl (in the World),” “We Found Love,” “S&M,” “Rude Boy,” “Work” and more.

Is there anything else you would like to know?

She has gained 1.75B strihms on Spotify since the show 12 weeks ago with a decade old discography.  Had 3 albums charting. Also has the most watched halftime show in Historih and has surpassed 150M views on Youtube within 3 months.

It’s lovely seeing ORH scrambling though because deep down, they know how successful it was

I'm imagining these stans fumming at their homes trying to cope with these threads and it's just too funny

For Rih standards and given the fact she’s pregnancy, she did great.

She's having a bigger era than some of her peers except there's no actual era or album

that's why they're mad :skull:

views have more to do with the game, not with the halftime show lol
