These minimal streams and no songs are clicking serve a 3rd album plummet, but she's only releasing her debut. This is all too late….Apparently no major producers are throwing their shits to her and she is no music talent to do it all by her self.

I'm scared for the album. RCA is trash when it comes to first weeks. Tate and Doja had smashes leading up to their albums last year and there were no physicals until months later  Even SOS didn't have physicals on release. I don't know a worse label for pop girls

The only thing RCA is kinda solid for is radio airplay.

I really want to be positive about her finally releasing an album and her situation would be so much simpler to rationalize if it was simply "her label/team aren't doing enough". But the "secondary" social media thing is literally such a trash strategy.

This song would benefit from any type of exposure. It makes no sense as to why she's so quiet about it. Insta stories are not going to do the trick. People do not know this song came out.

Normani thinks she holds alot more power than she actually does. Thats the only explanation 

Most of you have been around long enough to know that this all you will get when she releases music. A day or two of "promo" and then silence.

If you enjoy the music please do so but don't set yourself up expecting any effort to push the music commercially.

 

Tinashe does more out of her garage than RCA and her management team(s) have done to launch her career.

 

On the upside, we have 2 new songs and a guest appearance from her. All within 3 months, which I score as a win as I do enjoy her music.

I don't think anyone thinks the songs are bad. They're just unremarkable after such a long wait and the lack of promo lends to both singles feeling DOA.

Idk if I agree with that? And I say that as someone who likes both songs and is growing to love Candy Paint since this weekend. I actually think some of her fans and people in other corners online don't like that she's more of an R&B-leaning artist now. 2018/2019 did set false expectations for the type of artist I get the impression she's always wanted to be.

Maybe you should run through her discography really quickly. It wouldn't take you long, but all the songs except for Motivation aren't that different from each other. Motivation is really an outlier in her discography. Her first single as a solo artist was R&B and a midtempo and then she followed that with another R&B midtempo song in Waves. Besides, there are literal people in here just coming in her threads to hate. I'm talking about trolls. 

I was hoping for more with this! It really lacks a powerful chorus I feel is part of the issue.
