  1. This interview was the first time I truly connected with her on a personal level. I can relate to her experience. While I'm not a famous musician, I often find myself avoiding even looking at some of my best work after I've finished it. The completion process can take years, and by then, I'm well aware of every imperfection. I see the places where my creative vision wasn't fully realized, and it feels less than satisfying, even if others might not notice those flaws. It's clear that artistic integrity is important to her (see her feelings on Motivation). Perhaps that's also why she hasn't fully invested in commercially-driven strategies to promote this project.
  2. So what is stopping the music video from being released now?
  3. I cannot for the live of me understand why no music video for this.
  4. Still bumping this heavy. All Yours has moved up to rival Grip for me now. At least the hysteria on social media is calming down now that they figured out she is not moving 100K units first week.
  5. You never had COVID cause your taste is uncompromised.
  6. The dedication of that stan to not miss an anniversary. Normani got the album in just before June 30, 2024 post. So sick.
  7. The guitar rifts are sending me. A chef's kiss. Love this album despite my earlier concern about promo and dire roll out.. Grip is my guilty pleasure. Favorites are insomnia, Big Boy, Little Secret, All yours and Still. She carved out a lane for herself and gave a solid debut album.
  8. Not sure why her team wasn't prepared for this. You can't come to the States and go on an urban radio show and not expect that question based on how she looks. Her team should have simply told her to say she is a "woman of color" which is a catch all and would have diffused the whole thing.
  9. Most of you have been around long enough to know that this all you will get when she releases music. A day or two of "promo" and then silence. If you enjoy the music please do so but don't set yourself up expecting any effort to push the music commercially. Tinashe does more out of her garage than RCA and her management team(s) have done to launch her career. On the upside, we have 2 new songs and a guest appearance from her. All within 3 months, which I score as a win as I do enjoy her music.
  10. This is very infectious. I can't stop saying "Yeah Glo!"
  11. You are so right. I' sat in the car even after I got to work to let it run a few more times. That work wasn't going anywhere.
  12. This rollout is diabolical. Only chance is for it to take off organically. Given the song was already leaked a year ago and snippets were used in the Bose commercial campaign earlier this year you would think they would have done something fresh. I think they have all given up and are just going through the motions of releasing the album and preparing to move on.

  14. Squandered this opportunity with this video. It felt so lazy and uninspired. The damn songs is called jump.
  15. 37 adds compared to 53 for Coco Jones, who has the same management, suggest they are only making limited investment in radio on this song.
