After a decade long battle for their name, the official Sugababes returned in June 2022 with a sold out tour and festival performances around the UK. They've had a lot of success with performing. They released "The Lost Tapes" as a gift for the fans, although I would argue they ruined that release by not having physical versions ready and the lack of promotional material but I digress. They still charted at #2 on the UK album downloads chart. They had been working on new material from 2016-2020 and recently started working on it again. There's a rumor they've signed with Warner.

 

Can they make a comeback? Is this just the beginning of round 2 or is it already over for them?

At this point they are a legacy/nostalgia act tbh. They can tour their old stuff or go on the Pride circuit if they need some quick cash but I don't see them being relevant again.

Same. I'm sure they'll either remain indie music artists or sign to simply take pressure off of releasing/recording music, but I don't foresee them being what they once were.

If they play their cards right, I could see them having one successful single, and then an album that’s a success off of the back of that single. But they really don’t even need that, their touring power is insane with or without hit music.

They probably won't be getting any more hit singles (although in the TikTok era anything is possible and stranger things have happened), they could still absolutely get respectable album numbers in the UK with the right campaign and promo. Their brand is still strong and they have a large fanbase with millennials, as seen with their recent tour. If groups like Steps and All Saints can come back and do decent album numbers and tours there's no reason that Sugababes can't do the same. They just have to know their audience and how to market themselves.

In my opinion, The Lost Tapes could've already performed numbers like those groups you had mentioned but they handled it awfully. I agree with your points but they seem incapable

Never say never, with the right song and promotion they could maybe have another top 10 hit and the album could do well (like go gold) but they're obviously never getting another huge hit like About You Now or Push the Button.

No, they took far too long and now it’s over. I can see them having a cute #3-#54-#91 album chart run though if they make their remaining fans buy a bunch of physicals though.

Yeah, they could've easily debuted in the top 10 with physical releases.

Most of the public is not familiar with Siobhan in order for them to rely on the nostalgia card for anything more than a 'oh I remember them' moment.

That's true, and it's a shame things went down the way they did because her, Keisha and Mutya were such an iconic and charismatic trio. 

 

Though I've read that she's started a family and has kids and is very dedicated to them so I'm not sure she would have joined regardless.

Heidi has recently stated she is looking to return to her career in the industry. She would be a great presenter

And MKS won’t ever see success. Heidi won’t want to join a band that has a bully and a QAnon spreader/believer in it at the same time. MKS is over, move on and stan Flo or something.

I feel this is an unfair statement to all parties involved. Like it or not, Heidi is 1/3 of all of their hits except Overload. It's difficult to rectify. Like I said, there are more complex issues than just their feud at play here
