What are your stan related confessions? Mine:

 

- I would never stan an ex-act. Something about all of the ex-acts and even a lot of ex-girl group and ex-boy group members feels so off to me, and most don't have that star factor.

 

- I don't find most stans to be genuine. Whenever I see someone who is an ex-fan of Gaga and now stans someone else I just find it suspicious, and assume they have poor character and can't follow anything through in life. If you stan someone who debuted in the last two years I also just assume you are a trend chaser tbh.

 

- I would not date someone who stanned an ex-act.

Miley and Ariana are both very successful ex acts  but to each’s own. 
 

OT: I dislike brainwashed stans.

- I have never and I will never buy albums/singles/concert tickets from my faves

I like a few of their songs, but I can't take ex-acts seriously for whatever reason. Miley is maybe the one example of someone who transcended that status, but it's taking awhile.

The way everything is wrong in the OP

 

Ariana is an ex act but she has true star power. Like she overshadowed everything about Nickel, the show, her own character and the main character of the show.

Yeah I'm a casual fan of all the ex-acts some more or less but full blown stanning I will not. I don't really think it's fair to group Ariana in this category though, because unlike Miley, Selena and Demi, she was not the lead of Victorious and Sam & Cat was just a joint effort that lasted 1 season....so she didn't receive the "push" like the others did with their music careers 

Non-Elvis music is inferior

Non-Elvis vocals are dissapointing

New music is now dumb cause everyone's to sexual all the time to try and out do what Madonna did and it's getting grosser and grosser see renesainse

I'm not going to Madonnas concert and wouldn't go if the tickets were 25 dollars.

 

For anyone I stan there isn’t a song that I don’t find some value in, even if it’s just because I like listening to my favourite artists regardless and I would only “stan” if I find they have an interesting artistic perspective in the first place. 

 

I don’t really get people who stan someone and actively loathe parts of their output or whatever or some people find it way too easy to say they are obsessed with someone like it’s their favourite toy when they are really just…enjoying a song or an album.

Normally artists i only stan are ones Im very attracted too, aswell as love there music, it's why I normally stan male artists.  It was Denis Stoff for years and now Allday so yeah it's always my main crush who my actual faves I stan for are

could you elaborate on your last point a little further? I'm curious about your reasoning 

after having friends that actually work in the industry and knowing the behind the scenes of a lot of major things that are happening i feel like the facade of pop culture is completely dead to me and with the rise of social media any up and coming artist feels empty because everything is stale and pre planned while everything from the past is dead

I consider myself a massive Madonna and Gaga fan but I still haven’t seen any Madonna movie, I haven’t watched some of their tours yet and there are many more niche stan things about both artists that I have no idea even existed

I never in the past and would never in the future stan someone just because of their commercial success or stats, those money are not going on my bank account anyway, I never got the point of doing that.

Stanning Aly & Aj is permitted. Not sure if they count as ex-acts.
