What are some of your Kpop predictions next year?  Who are going to dominate?

This is also going to be the first year without any BTS releases, since every member is now in the military.

2nd generation idols are very vocal abt the lifelong negative impact debuting at a young age had on them.

To name a few, Taemin, Sooyoung, Taeyeon have gone into much detail about the mental effects... pretty much any idol that was still in school when they debuted falls into this category.

I think the same successful acts from 2023 will remain dominating. I didn't notice any 2023 debut with the potential to overtake the stabilized successful acts so soon, maybe in the future. But we shall see.

Yes! We need them OUT!!

Factually incorrect.

When IVE debuted, only 1 member (Leeseo) was more than a year away from turning 18

That's much more acceptable than Baby Monster, where there is a 14, 15, 16 and 16 yr old at debut.

Idk abt NewJeans (idk any of their names/anything abt them), but I'm sure it's not as bad as BM. If similar to BM, it's also not acceptable.

The point is, you mentioned minors. All the groups named have minors in them. You can’t be against one group with minors, but champion others with minors. ATP it’s just giving you don’t like them because they should all be receiving the same treatment for having minors and I don’t see NEARLY as much backlash for NJ and IVE as I saw and still see for BABYMONSTER

yall need to just admit y’all are bias and hypocritical.

for the record only one member in NJ is an adult. BABYMONSTER have three adults. Ruka and Pharita are adults, Asa is turning 18 soon

No shade, but no one forced them to be idols. They did it on their own free will so I really don’t sympathize with that

no one is forcing the idol life on anyone, they audition, train and debut because it’s something they wanted to do

I also think it has a lot to do with the company that have these idols feeling a sense of regret. All the idols you named are from SM and I don’t doubt they dealt with a lot of stuff behind the scenes as kids

its SM we’re talking about. They had to deal with forced plastic surgery, slave contracts, crazy dieting, etc…

it’s a mess over there

I feel like LE SSERAFIM surpassing IVE as the 2nd biggest 4th gen GG is inevitable  :matty:

The only group I actively listen to with a minor in it is IVE, and I like them in spite of the fact that Leeseo is in the group.  I would much prefer if she wasn't in the group (solely because of her age)

That group is overwhelmingly children.

They are not legally able to enter into the contracts themselves, or able to comprehend the ramifications of the decision they/their parents have made.

I think that is a ****** up way of thinking - essentially victim blaming.

Debut should not happen until 18.

Jin and Jhope are getting discharged from the military in June and October. HYBE will for sure have Q3 and Q4 releases for them both :fan:

BM are too young and their debut was mid at best. Stanning them is a choice I hope no legal adult is making. :coffee2:

Ah damn. At least they are the #1 and #2 most avoidable members. If one doesn't actively check for them, they are easy to ignore.

You say it’s a ****** up way of thinking, but it is reality. No one has guns up to anyone’s heads forcing idol life on them, they wanted to be stars…

unless they experienced some really

bad life altering moments as kids, the illegal kind. I can’t feel bad for them talking about missing out on childhood. I’m sorry…in life there are sacrifices that must be made in order to sometimes get to where you want to go

The streams aren’t matching the statement tho.. yall are saying how bad the song was but it’s outstreaming every rookie released this year as well as established groups

so someone is finding the song good

I thought something was up when this thread was moving too fast

but then it’s just that ygly rat polluting this thread with more babymidster nonsense

This was so cute, they've really had a great year, but SM needs to get a move on with their JAPAN 1st album.

It's getting ridiculous, the public wants it!

Number are not and have never been an indicator of quality. And even less so in k-pop with all the stanning right out the gate, mass streaming on mute and hate watching from other fandoms.

That was a fun throwback to the past that got quickly overshadowed by other year-end performances. :celestial:

What is this revisionist history. MHJ/HYBE was DRAGGED for debuting a group consisting of mostly minors especially a 13/14 year old. Then the cookie controversy because they were all too young.

Please lets not act like its some selective outrage with BM :rip:
