I think I’ve said this before but the reason XG’s music really HITS is because they’ve incorporated beautiful rnb melodies into the usual girl crush sound, and that really elevates the listening experience. Although I’m not a fan of the AAVE, it’s just so overdone and it’s as annoying as Soyeon’s English lyrics in Gidle. Like y’all are Asian for ****’s sake 

Since getting back into Kpop this past year, I realized how much better the girl groups are now tbh. Like they really are slaying in every area. Poor BG Stan’s left in the dust 🤭

Ajay hit the nail on the head with whats wrong with Yeah Yeah Yeah. The chorus is SO boring, yet the final version with the added instrumental is pretty catchy.

 

The verses are actually kinda Big Bang/2NE1‘d ca 2011. But that god damn elevator ass music chorus…

They are the real deal! We still don't know how much they are selling, since they still haven't released an album yet, apart from a very limited edition of their latest single album which sold out immediately. Actually they have only released 4 songs so far which are all singles btw and still no b-sides 

 

Their streaming numbers are cute and keep increasing with every release! They will definitely be huge in the future cause you can see a lot of thought and resources have been used for this group! Their company seem to be very connected in the music industry which is why they were able to snatch some western collabs such as Ciara etc... Their latest single "Left Right" also got some radio play in the US.

 

The thing that makes them stand out from the rest is that they have this extra groove that some of the other ggs lack + they have the best dance and rap line among all Kpop ggs ever, and also having a strong vocal line. These girls are just talented I fear with crazy amount of star power!

A Ciara collaboration in 2023 isn't anything to brag about. Now a Normani collaboration would have my attention!

How are their Spotify numbers? They all have talent, but something about them seems unremarkable - a number of them lack personality, and one of them seem to be impersonating Camila Cabello.

 

 

I don't think they're going to be surpassing IVE/New Jeans/LSRFM anytime soon.

Yeah, you can already see their growth with Shooting Star and Left Right which were released this year already surpassing their previous title tracks. Both songs will surpass 100M streams in a few months 

I don’t think it’s fair to compare XG to other groups. They’re already at a deficit because Korea is xenophobic. But they’re steadily gaining fans with each comeback and doing great numbers. I think their next comeback should be trance or euro dance with R&B hooks.

 

Anyways, apparently BlackSwan has a new comeback with yet another new lineup of girls. Only one remained from the last lineup? Idc. A soap opera recast tea.

anyway, Sriya is a STAR  This comeback was an improvement in terms of budget but I still don’t see a bright future for Blackswan, so I hope Sriya can go to some big company after they disband. I’ll be rooting for her. The first Indian kpop idol, how iconic is that? If she gets a proper treatment, she might be very popular internationally because of the huge Indian diaspora worldwide.

Jennie is largely natural though. She looks practically the same as pics of her as a kid. I don't know why you're acting like she got everything done.

No, Asia in general is too big and ethnically diverse for every country within the continent too be lumped together as 1 culture, which is why there's so many sub continents within Asia such as East Asia, South Asia, the Middle East etc... This goes for every continent in the world btw, but since Asia is the biggest continent in the world, the cultural and ethnic differences are far bigger compared to other continents.
