They might get gf/nuest-ed. All hybe groups are like double their sales each come back. Fromis increase sales but not fast enough. With hybe losing money and face in SM deal, they might take action quickly

Exactly, that is a fair comparison, let's see how this IVE album sells before saying AESPA is the biggest group in physicals. Aespa's advantage is that they debuted earlier than everyone else.

The only 2 guaranteed long term spots in the 4th gen trinity so far are newjeans and aespa.

I'm so used to watching the performance version but the actual MVs are so well-made as well

I don't think it was a flop, but it underperformed digital wise and the spotify stats aren't cute either. I do agree aespa has potential.

and the era still sold out arenas in Japan and Korea and got them booked at several high profile festivals AND briefly snatched the album sales record from black pink.

 

If SM gets them back on track this year it’ll be over for so many idol groups.

But its kinda sad that there's only 3 relevant BGs in 4gen atm, 4 if we include Treasure. The rest are nugus flops.

Yeah the fact that the 5th and 6th biggest 4th gen bgs are Ateez and The Boyz shows how much the 4th gen bg scene lack compared to the gg scene. Like I would say that The Boyz are on the same level as Everglow and Loona while Ateez  being on the same level as NMIXX at best. 

Though it is indeed harder for many top boy groups to coexist, since their fans tend to be very loyal and most likely never switch like they do with ggs. I thought maybe Bep1er would shake things up, but apparently they don't even wanna be claimed among 4th gen  

 

If we were to compare and do a versus battle between the 4th gen bgs and ggs it would look like this:

1. NewJeans vs Stray Kids
2. IVE vs TXT
3. LE SSERAFIM vs ENHYPEN
4. GIDLE vs TREASURE
5. aespa vs ATEEZ 
6. ITZY vs The Boyz 
7. NMIXX vs Oneus? 
8. STAYC vs P1Harmony? 
9. Kep1er vs Tempest? 

 

The fact that the 7th most popular 4th gen bg is already at nugu level while I can count 18 ggs from 4th gen that are more popular than the 7th most popular 4th gen bg   For example only the Big 3 (SKZ, TXT, ENHA) can keep with the top 6 4th gen ggs.
