WWAFAWDWG debuted with 313K and it did this BEFORE Bad Guy was a hit.

The album was huge, won a lot of major Grammys and Bad Guy was a monster hit.

 

I think Billie wasted album 2's hype by releasing so many droplets between albums. 

 

If didn't do so many droplets, she came back with a better album than HTE, included Everything I Wanted on the album and had at least 1 more commercial song on the album (as the lead single), could she have debuted with 1M?

 

I definitely think she had it in her

WWAFA also had 4 pre release songs that helped build momentum for the debut week. Bad guy ofcourse transformed the album into a massive phenomenon but she was slowly collecting pre orders with the pre release singles anyway.

 

 

Definitely not. Even Adele couldn't do 1m after 25.

I don't think Happier Than Ever (A) was what the GP wanted from Billie, so even if the single choices were better, I don't think the numbers would've been much different. Maybe it would've done similar numbers to the debut, had it had a better rollout.

at least Olivia (270k ish) has a pure representation of her sale power, as she didn’t even have her vinyls ready yet

If she had released an album circa April 2020 and COVID hadn't happened, maybe not a million, but probably 500k+ with ease. She wasted a lot of her hype by waiting too long and bad single choices and then Olivia swooped in.

No. 500k maybe if she dropped the album with HTE(s) instead of extending the pre-release with hype killing songs.

Idk but her and Olivia need to release albums sooner. Madonna, Britney, Gaga, Mariah, Whitney all followed their breakthrough smashes right away and it worked.

She did less than 100k SEA units with HTE….

and doing more than +500k pure sales it’s impossible nowadays unless you’re Adele or Taylor, so no 

she could definitely get close, but i think after HTE that window is gone now

Mmm no. I think that if they didn't do a super long rollout for the album and the stuff that happened in between announcement and release didn't actually go down, she could've done around 500k but 1M is pushing it.
