Will Katy Perry re-peak?

Featured Replies

After recently watching this video…

I began to imagine a Katy Perry with black hair once again and my optimism returned. In the literal sense, “re-peaking” is not possible, however I mean in a “Super Freaky Girl” situation. Katy Perry is talented, a song writer, and ultimately a household name that the world is very familiar with. I even see potential in her going in a more alternative route, considering her records prior to Teenage Dream. I argue, that it is just a matter of the right song and time. What are your thoughts?

Hire the best team and producers out there and make a banger album for a lifetime.

No, but if pop girls who have never even had half as much clout as Katy, such as Tove Lo and Charli XCX, are still dropping quality music with great visuals, then Katy should continue to do the same. I'm sure that way her public standing will improve dramatically, even if her stats don't reach her previous heights (not like she needs them to go that high again).

My thoughts exactly! Certainly not impossible

Her collaborators on Witness and Smile include: Max Martin, Shellback, Savan Koetcha, Ali Payami, Sia, Oscar Holter, Jeff Bhasker, Illya, Zedd, Dreamlab, Oscar Gorres, Jon Bellion, The Monsterz & Strangerz, Stargate, Ian Kirkpatrick, and Charlie Puth. That's a stacked list of producers and co-writers, they clearly aren't the issue.

Nicki has a smash 12 years into her career same with Mariah having a Christmas song smashing 29 years later.

Well, the marketing and PR for Witness roll-out was tragic. And the theme for the album sucked. If she brands her new album as a "good girl gone bad" type of thing - there's still a chance. No more dressing up as a clown or a kindergarten princess.

Don’t think so, even I as an ex-stan could never get over her Witness image plus her dancing with a poop in Vegas doens’t help.

K bye for now, Sunshine. <3

In her current state I don't think so, hopefully she gets the determination again

Y'all make this thread every other week and the answer is still no.

She's an almost 40 something mother of 1, I don't think people would really care.

She could maybe have some sort of resurgence, but an actual re-peak isn't possible in all reality.

Re-peak? no. I think Katy could get some flowers if she actually tried to challenge herself artistically, but not only I have doubts that she has what it takes in her to pull that, but she also seems content in being a legacy act and enjoying the financial perks and stability that comes with it.

that video doesn't even show the exact moment when her career died.

This is the moment she committed career suicide which is ironic since one of the topics during this interview was suicide. :rip:

and no, NOT with her current team.

Repeaking is extremely unlikely and I highly doubt it will ever happen, but I can see her scoring another hit.

It's all about the right song, at the right time, maybe with the right feature, some random viral trend... There are so many circumstances.

I think for another successful era, it’d be too risky to try something new and would need to be something nostalgic to OG Katy Perry. Also more features w pop girlies bc she doesn’t have many. Dua, Miley, Ari or even Charli could really help her charting and relevancy.

A record reminiscent to I Kissed a Girl & Teenage Dream to remind the stans why they fell in love w her in the first place would be fitting.

(Kinda like how Gaga’s Chromatica Ball is nostalgic to her Born this Way Ball.)

I hate to say it, but I think working with Luke again would benefit her. The receipts show her decline after they stopped working together.

She can repeak off her old music ala Kate Bush if they use her in a show that smashes. On her own/with new music? No.

Maybe yes, maybe not. You never know with this industry. If its the right time and the right song she might
