Peaked at #1 in 4 countries (compared to 12 from CLB) already out of the top 10 in every market.

 

Singles peaked at #6 and #14 in the USA (his strongest market).

 

The album debuted at the US with 204K units, down from 600K from CLB. All of this in just under a year. 

What happened?

He kept releasing generic mess serving dollar store Kendrick and the GP got tired

 

 

A rap artist with a predominantly rap cred put out the opposite of rap in mainstream music. Very predictable outcome.

He made an experimental mid album which wasn’t commercially outstanding. Something most pop girls can relate to here. 
 

He released an album this year? 

He alienated his fan base sonically with the new album. They weren’t expecting a dance record 

He's been putting out mediocre material for the last four years, eventually it catches up to you. CLB itself was very underwhelming and nowhere near as big as Scorpion and Views, so a further decline was inevitable.

 

His best years are past him at this point but he's still such a huge name that he will probably have many more Top 10's and even #1s with the right song. But the days of any album automatically doing massive numbers may be over.

The album was only rushed release so he can say he started the house trend before Beyonce, if there was ever going to be one. Make this thread when his next studio release is bombing.

Because he's released like 10 albums/ mixtapes eventually u flop

Its stans of a certain fanbase tryna call someone else’s material generic. 

His last two albums are extremely generic and wayy too long

It’s more of a mixtape than an album let’s be real. When he does a full era it’s usually better 

That album is absolute garbage. As a house music fan, it’s laughably mediocre.

Nothing, all artist have a flop/low performing era/album/song

He still had two number one’s in the top 10 on Billboard 100. Some Artist just don’t know how to flop very well.

Honestly, Nevermind is not bad by any means, but I certainly think they should have cooked it a bit longer and added new and unique elements which would have elevated it 

As a house music fan, certain songs do a thing for me

Disco/Dance is flopping! Everyone, go back to hip-hop/rap immediately!

 

But fr: His audience is the anti-thesis of dance music enjoyers. So him putting out a Dance album (terrible, at that) + no hype + no promo + incel main audience = flop!
