Basically no one has bought it but everyone has free access to it over the years. And you one of the hands in the creation of it, shall receive not one more cent from it?

So artist shouldn’t get paid when we stream their songs? People watch these tv shows for the characters played by the individuals, their actors. If studio earn money at every point of distribution like theaters, tv, streaming…. Why should the actual people that contributed to it not earn money from it too?

Every Tom Cruise movie released in the last few years have been part of a franchise. Outside his franchise films, he flops and barely makes back budget. He tried to start his own franchise several, but they all flopped. For example, Oblivion (Flop), Edge of Tomorrow (Flop) and The Mummy (Flop and killed the Monster franchise that was supposed to flop) the only stars that can open a film are - Sandra will guarantee you at least at 25 million open, Leo 30 million and the Rock 25 million.

Compared to budget, most of his films were flops. When was the last time he starred in a film that didn’t require actions scenes where he did his own stunts? Of those films, how many made back budget, what were the domestic gross? Tom cruise is a popular celebrity and has the mission impossible series, but the same could be said about Vin Deisel and the high grossing worldwide totals of fast and the furious.

Sure we can agree that Top Gun is a phenomenon, but it is a proven IP just like Jurassic Park, Sherlock Holmes and every franchise that these stars do outside of marvel. The moment Tom cruise tries something original, the audience doesn’t follow especially the justify the legend budgets. If single one of Tom’s movies outside of Mission Impossible will not recoup budget or barely does. If you’re a studio, you rather Have Sandra than a Tom cruise type star.
