Happy 2nd Birthday Folklore ?

Featured Replies

"Taylor was at her lowest.. fat, nasty and broke. Career in shambles. She came on this ***** mad as hell!!!"

On this day, 2 years ago, Taylor Swift dropped her acclaimed 8th studio album Folklore which went on to win her a 3rd AOTY Grammy and ascended her status to an undeniable legend:jonny5:

2 years later, what are your thoughts on this album, your current favourites? How do you think it impacted her career?

seven is my most played song of all time on Spotify. folklore's spiritual title track did that. Happy birthday!

Happy birthday to the best album of this decade!

Folklore made me a stan :weeps: :weeps:

That august, MTR, the lakes and cardigan hit on godly level.....

Really one of her bessssst

Happy 2nd anniversary to my comfort album :heart2:

folklore made me fan of Taylor’s music and it will always be one of my favourite albums of all time. I’m forever thankful to Taylor for putting this one out.

My favourites are august, this is me trying and the lakes.

what a legendary album, transcendental album for her as an artist which made her a legend

exile was and stays being my ultimate fave of hers, invisible string, lakes, seven, august, betty, mad woman..

...AND let's not forget the long pond sessions! :heart2:

still gutted she hasn't recorded one for evermore as well

The quintessential quarantine album! No one else comes close. No fads allowed.

The way I've been WAITING for the evermore long pond sessions cause it would be A+++ (imagine Ivy live, UGH)

OT: As others have said, Folklore was really what made her ascend into legendary territory!! This album did wonders for her respect amongst the GP and critics --  her haters (both online and in the media) really shut up after folklore (and evermore) dropped because at that point they really couldn't deny that she's capable of writing great songs and making something special. Now imagine if she had dropped something like this in 2019 instead of Loser...

It’s also my comfort album, I lost my pet a couple days ago and that night I was worried I was going to have a panic attack or an emotional breakdown. I put on folklore and let the music put me in a trance, and before I knew it I had calmed down and was able to process my emotions a lot more healthily.

OT: Happy birthday seven, august, cardigan, peace, etc :jonny2:

What a moment to be a Swiftie during the release day. :alexz3: Happy year older Folklore, album of the century! :clap3:

MTR, Seven, August, Cardigan & Mirrorball are still those girls! :alexz:

Some of her best ever songs, housed on one album... Mirrorball, August, Illicit Affairs... whew.

The real worthy follow up to reputation. :clap3:

New Year’s Day -> The 1

:clap3:

oh i didn’t even realize that was today lol i was listening to a lot of songs from it on my nightwalk earlier

anyway, a bona fide classic :clap3:

her most consistently incredible album. it's aging like the finest wine. it includes some of the best-written songs of her career (so far). acclaimed from the release day (unlike her other records that gain importance/acclaim with time). truly a moment to remember and an album that defined her career and cemented her status in pop culture :clap3:

Taylor’s best album :clap3:

it’s one of the few albums I’ve a very vivid memory of my first listening experience.

The one is a perfect opener

Cardigan was a potent face for the era

The Mirrorball-Seven-August trinity still does things to me

Peace remains the most underrated gem of the album.
