do they even have a song that has charted above the top 800 on melon for more than a week for all these claims to be made?

The way most of those trainees could have debuted and had a few comebacks by now if they were somewhere else. Moon Sua, Ireh and Chaein knew they didn’t want to be in the dungeon forever and debut as hags

HYBE will be fine without BTS tbh, YG created Blackpink after Bigbang and 2NE1, HYBE can for sure create another big BG or even a GG, Le Sserafim is a good start.

the backbone of HYBE is the army

they will be fine as long as they milk BTS merchandise

Well you should've been here during their "pre-debut" era (still not sure what the actual debut was). They kinda had the whole thread stanning.

No idea but I've noticed this too. They're terribly underrated in this thread and in Korea.

South America loves them though.

I hope they can get their 1st win with their upcoming comeback.

People always says no group will replace BTS unless an indebuted group will come smashing. Did everyone forgot that's what people were saying when BigBang was the undisputed number 1 group while BTS was there.

They debuted in 2013 didn't start to charts more than 2 weeks before 2015 and their first number 1 was in 2016. :deadbanana4:

Foe example Enhypen could still follow this pattern (even though I don't think they will).

It's so hard to stay interested in Kard especially with that one member. :matty:

Whatever happens 3rd gen K-pop will still and always will be the best K-pop generation I mean the iconic groups that came out of it, the music, the concepts, the idols themselves truly the PEAK of K-pop :worship:

everyone wants their fave to overtake BTS but don't realise that means annoying armies will migrate to the new biggest bg

TXT and Enhypen with the BTS’s clout are still struggling, BTS isn’t just a popular korean group, they are among the biggest artists of this century. So yes it seems pretty impossible to reach their peak.

Tell that to the companies who are giddy right now and desperately cooking up ways to try to create their own BTS. They've done so before and have failed, and will continue to fail, but it's just funny to know that these companies are going to ramp up their efforts in the next couple of years chasing that rainbow.

Idk the groups that most closely followed the BTS formula are actually doing pretty well.

Someone has to say it. I believe ENHYPEN have the highest average plastic surgeries per member, surpassing NCT and TXT.

seriously though, people don't like them here but bts genuinely loves music (and each other), they had crazy drive, i can't believe hybe ruined them like this

a group with songs like spring day, blood, sweat & tears and black swan going on hiatus after permission to dance and yet to come is just so upsetting :deadbanana2:

It was crazy how they went from self-produced in korean to completely manufactured in english. A complete 180. One of the major reasons people stanned BTS was because they had an input over their own music and wrote their own lyrics . And HYBE decided what was gonna make them “break out” in America was stripping them of everything that made them BTS in the first place. Dynamite was fun, butter was fine, PTD was overkill.

Lots of artists don’t write their music. That’s nothing to shame either, but bts are all such music lovers and they did seem to be losing themselves trying to keep up with the demand. I hope this break does them good and they come back refreshed.

Big Bang never had the impact and power BTS has internationally.

Not the 2nd gen erasure :biblio:

Both 2nd +3rd gen are the peaks of Kpop and yes that was a very long peak that span from mid 2000s - late 2010s :giraffe:

The difference is that when Bigbang and EXO were reigning, other boy groups also managed to chart. Now boy groups' reputation in korea is dead and the groups that manage to chart inside the top 100 quickly drop because all the streams are coming from fans.

Wanna One was the last successful boygroup to debut but they were temporary...
