The legal action was towards the people who spread the rumours, not the victim that leaked the School Violence Committee document. AFAIK, HYBE hasn't sued the victim nor has the victim sued HYBE.

Is it groundless if there is the document? If anything, the document at least proves that Garam perpetrated school violence, also confirmed by the MOE while HYBE hasn't provided any solid proof against the document, only 'alternative facts'.

Yes, ultimately, we will have to wait and see if the details in the document matches their explanations as claimed.

Either way, if in the end they cannot prove that Garam did not bully anyone and is completely innocent, I don't think her reputation will recover. The severity of the bullying is not a point of concern to the GP from what I observed.

Was not reffering to the facts of the document itself, but claims like she broke someone's head with a pot, made other students kneel before her in the hallways and she was cursing teachers in their face - which people in here have no problem using to paint her as this evil demon despite being no proof for any of this outside of annonymus pann posts.

I agree. Even if some of the allegations are disproved, not all of them can at this point, because there are documents that have been confirmed as fact. Her image is completely damaged to the public and HYBE's statements only made it worse.

And a key point all the Garam supporters keep forgetting is the 5 other girls and their careers. I don't even like the group (or IZ*ONE) but even I can see how unfair this must be for the other girls, the longer this scandal goes on and on.

They must feel like all their hard work and opportunities have been put at risk by this controversy. It's a shame and HYBE needs to take decisive action to protect them. A big 3 company would never have let it get this far.

I think this could go either way.

If she is indeed found guilty of severe violence then they have messed up big time with this whole ordeal. And would be risking an even bigger lawsuit for defamation from the other side because HYBE's claims are quite serious.

But if their story turns out to be true and gets proven in court, to me it seems they have taken the right route. They refused to give details about it initially as this was a very complex situation including a sexual assault incident between minors and said it would be revealed through the court case. They were unfortunately forced to make more details publicly at the pressure from the other side and they did.

An apology to the 'victim' would be out of discussion in this case. This girl allegedly gossiped behind Garam's back while being friends, made her male friends outside of school threaten to beat her, took a semi-naked picture of her friend and posted it online without permit, and when confronted about it in a non physical way she went to cry crocodile tears at the school that she is being bullied, resulting in a document staying in Garams report for years. On top of it, years after the incident and no further contact she came out to accuse her again after seeing her debut as an idol and try to ruin the career worked hard for in the last years.

If somebody did this to me be damned if I'd ever throw a mere 'sorry' at them, let alone issue a public apology.

It's right that it isn't fair for the other girls that the group's image got tainted, but it also wouldn't be fair to Garam whos' only 16 yo if she gets kicked out and denied the chance to make her dream come true despite working just as hard for it as the others just for the fact that she confronted and threw curse words at a girl who sexually assaulted her best friend in 5th grade.

Again I want to reiterate that this is all hyphtetically speaking as we do not know the truth of what happened exactly yet.

Actually the story is Garam lured the girl out through text messages and ambushed her with the infamous assault.

Once again, the Ministry of Education came out to say the Level 5 ruling was real and that Level 5 rulings almost always involve a physical attack.

You're also forgetting the part where the victim got harassed on social media and had her pictures posted with her face blurred out to threaten her. She privately sent mail to HYBE to reach out to them about it in April and was ignored until the Garam rumors started blowing up according to her lawyers.

Your views are based completely on HYBE's statement meanwhile the victim actually has a team of lawyers willing to go against a huge company. They must believe in the evidence they haven't shown. HYBE has relied only on "Well Garam said.." or "Garam's mom said..."

Just defend Garam and go. You really don't need to keep saying the victim is so jealous of Garam and how she should get over it. Clearly the girl is rattled enough to try to take her own life, you should think of that before always going it's so unfair for Garam. If she stops being an idol, she'll live. She can be a very pretty and successful banking attendant or whatever

Forget Jennie and the smoker, let’s talk about LIGHTSUM and about how they’re about to release SOTY :jonny6:

This is the last time I am responding to you because you keep coming at me with the same things.

1) I am aware that's how the story goes. If you believe the victim you have to believe Hybe's part about the document as well since they both have it. Victim says she was lurred and confronted, hybe says the document specifies the confrontation was not physical. If Hybe is lying then the law firsm should release the document publicly like they said they would but have not since then.

2)MOE said NOTHING that was not already knwon before. In worst case it is neutral. In best case it plays in Hybe's favor as it supports their story that the lv5 sentence could be innacurate as they stated these verdicts vary by school to school.

3)I fail to see how this is Garam's fault? The online harassing started because she/her friends decided to speak up about the issue. Play stupid games you win stupid prizes.

4) My view is that neither side can be confirmed nor denied at this moment in time and with the information we have. And definitely not enough to justify the villanization of a 16yo girl as the no1 public enemy until this is settled legally.

Until then, peace out!
