IVE is doing great for an 8 month old group, but it's just wild to suggest Spotify streams somehow invalidate aespa's bigger sales, better domestic digitals, western success (tangible in U.S charts/radio, album sales and ticket sales) and demand elsewhere, especially Japan.

Well at least Twice was still bigger in Korea until 2020 and were selling more albums and were more popular in japan. Honestly it’s 2020 which showed that BP are invincible.

I don't even stan TWICE, but in 2016/2017 there was a valid argument for them being #1 for a period of time. Of course that quickly erased once BP grew, but that is the point! 

 

You can't declare one group as above everyone else, if they are not yet competing/on top in all areas. 

 

Once again, as I'm sure I'll get more essays saying I'm "pressed", "sheep" etc. The issue is with that user calling IVE an "undisputed leader", not an issue with IVE themselves. If you're going to wade in, you need to be cognizant of that.

Nearly 1M people applied for tickets to aespa's Japan showcases, not 400k. 

 

There are plenty of videos showing all 4 dates being sold out in the 10,000 capacity arena, unless we're going to start claiming the audience is CGI/fake like y'all did with Coachella.

The only reason Aespa has more catalogue streams is because they more releases overall. It’s a simple as that. The fact IVE aren’t far off with 4 songs  (at the time) against BM, NL, Savage, DCT, Illusion and Girls. contributing to their yearly numbers so far tells you all you need to know.

Kepler 30k tickets for showcase but you will not seeing their stans being that loud for these supposedly 400k applications when it’s basically Twice’s numbers which doesn’t make sense 

The obsession this thread has with trying to belittle Aespa is disturbing. Do y’all enjoy your faves or just want them to be more successful than aespa?

Which is why it makes no sense to already declare IVE the "undisputed leaders". 

 

If they already had more catalogue streams, more sales, more ticket sales etc. I could understand....but do they at this moment in time?

8 months in, NL was already a bigger song than anything IVE has released so far. 11 months in, they had progressed to PAK and selling half a million in a month, so let's not act as if they were flop rookies. There's a reason aespa swept the 2021 rookie awards. 

 

You also answered your own question. IVE has no international deal so they are out of that race at the moment, compared to other 4th gen groups. 

 

To be an undisputed leader as you put it, you need to be untouchable in all areas, so you set IVE up by calling them that. 

 

Of course some people will quote this as a "meltdown" or me trying to downplay IVE's success. No. The issue is with you calling them an "undisputed leader" as if Spotify streams invalidate everything else that other groups have already acheived.

 

me rooting for them doesn't mean I cannot admit that certain groups are doing better, I'm just not delusional

 

if we'd go about my personal taste then it'd be BP = NJ (for now, depends on what material they will have further on) > aespa > itzy (sans latest ep)>= ive and le sserafim

doesn't change the fact I'm enjoying all of them, some outputs more, some less, I care about the overall vibe - that's why aespa won't reach the top since they lack charisma but I like their concept, voices and most of their music, even girls the song is acceptable to me... but at the same time I prefer itzy as performes, I need more from IVE to fully get into them and for some reason I cannot fully go into LSRFM although their music is good

 

you to say that NL is already bigger than anything from IVE first thing, not on the international charts and second thing they are still up and running with both ELEVEN and LD, so don't set them up for now, because no one knows how it will end

 

they don't have the deal, because Starship decided so, the interest is there as they got offers already

 

to me IVE's career trajectory is just much more impressive than aespa's and that's 8 months in... they can possibly demolish aespa with their first mini, so you're definitely too much ahead
