you need to understand that NJ’s ep already passed 55m mark 3 weeks after the release

aespa’s Girls has around 80m and that’s with Illusion and LTS being released before ep drop and when they are more established act  (I’m not counting BM, DCT and Forever but it’s still 6 songs vs 4 songs)

itzy’s checkmate is at 31m with 7 songs :rip: now that’s embarrassing for them, first they tarnished their Korean fanbase, now this

They have literally 3 title tracks, next cb if they get only 1 TT, they will not pull these numbers again. :rip:

Can't even wait for one comeback to start declaring that group as 4th gen leaders   ITZY had a smash debut as well but we saw how that turned out like...at least wait? Mind you this group isn't even a month old

I mean NewJeans’ songs have been marketed as singles though with videos supporting them. I don’t think it’s surprising that those songs will outstream songs that have been performed once and have no videos behind them.

It’s the same way how if Illusion was just a normal bside released normally with the album with one or two performances it wouldn’t have gotten as much attention.

That’s great but Eleven and Love Dive blow those Spotify numbers out of the water let alone After Like. And when it comes to NJ’s sales it HAS to be taken into account they have 9 versions with bags included. :rip:

they are literally doing Eleven numbers for now, but with two songs (per song, not combined) at once :deadbanana4: it all will come down to the longevity and their next comeback

Eleven is 9 months old, Attention and Hype Boy are out for 3 weeks, we will see how long they will stay afloat

NJ are flops on yt, but they are not behind on spotify

dang they demolished every other kpop gg except bp? :deadbanana:

what does admitting that certain group is doing amazing for the debut has with proclaiming it to be 4th gen leaders? :deadbanana4: I literally just stated that they are doing amazing for now and we will see how they will do with the comeback

I didn’t say they are ahead of anyone, but that they are doing on par or even better than IVE’s debut… NJ needs to surpass itzy and aespa first and prove themeselves with the comeback, time will show

for now IVE’s is the undisputable leader, there isn’t any discussion about that :deadbanana4: :clap3:

IVE vs Aespa is really the Twice vs Blackpink of this generation, but New Jeans, Le Sserafim and StayC are not that far from them tbh.

The competition is real!!!

Billboard Global 200 Excl. US
#34 Attention
#36 Hype boy
#38 ELEVEN
#39 WA DA DA
#48 FEARLESS
#198 Cookie

Billboard Global 200
#56 Attention
#59 Hype boy
#68 ELEVEN
#69 FEARLESS
#77 WA DA DA

Spotify Global
#88 ELEVEN - 1,081,977
#110 Attention - 1,072,931
#132 FEARLESS - 971,118
#141 Hype Boy - 951,672
#146 Wa Da Da - 842,079
#183  O.O - 762,664

Local jeans doing fine. Sadly, they don't have Apple Music Japan support (Hype Boy is stuck at #101), but they are doing more than anyone has expected from them. Hope they continue their local success. :alexz3:

Already got a feeling SS cooking up a IVE19 sub-unit at some point next year; the Sistar-print is real with them. Liz, ha justice is coming

This gen is more similar to 2nd gen tbh with all the competition. IVE vs Aespa is more 2NE1 vs SNSD :giraffe: With ITZY being the Wonder Girls yepyep

Yes there is discussion because that's a ridiculous statement to make.

IVE is doing great for an 8 month old group, but it's just wild to suggest Spotify streams somehow invalidate aespa's bigger sales, better domestic digitals, western success (tangible in U.S charts/radio, album sales and ticket sales) and demand elsewhere, especially Japan.

IVE can't be "the undisputable leader" if they're not even competing in certain areas. Make it make sense please :ace:

TWICE - 3 consecutive songs achieved PAK (Cheer Up, TT, Knock Knock), hits after hits
BLACKPINK - successful comebacks, 4D (3rd comeback) entered Hot 100

who are the Twice vs Blackpink of this generation :fan:

There is literally no undisputable leader :rip: With each new release we keep saying this. No one is safe not even adspa with their huge album sales. They're still behind in streams.

NewJennies songs are also all titles basically with MVs so it's unfair to compare it to others. Itchy are still the leading group on Spotify in overall streams but their power has been decreasing lately.

in which areas exactly aren't they competing with aespa?

what success did aespa had 8 months into their careers? IVE has 3 successful singles, all of them in top 30 of Korean chart, two in top 10, just scored biggest position on Spotify global after BP and highest peak of every 4th gen group, not only ggs

they most possibly will become million seller with single album as they already passed 600m mark with AL

ELEVEN and LD's are not done yet on the charts, so to say that aespa has better domestic digitals is a lot, especially when IVE can overtake them in a few weeks with just 3 titles and 2 b-sides

what western success are we speaking of? they have sales but somehow that's not in line with every other metric and IVE's are on disadventage of having no international deal and only releasing single albums for now

as you can see the demand is real, they somehow manage to catch ww attention and aespa needs to catch up FAST because IVE is already up there, 8 months in

What meltdown? Do facts make you flustered or something :rip:

Itchy is yesterday news. They’re the 2022 Post Malone.

Aespa will never surpass IVE international success if they keep experimenting with different sounds every comeback, which I hope they do. Please leave the basic catchy music to IVE and less talented girls that have no range to pull something like Savage or Next level off. Girls is a dud but it’s expected because you can’t expect the output the experiment to always be great/flawless. Illusion is a ******* song though; it’s edgy, fresh and catchy! Imagine how ducking boring the genre will be if every gg chases after  the same sound like the 2020 disco plague.

Please be alittle about the art, too many ******* are about the charts already, and the chart ONLY ! Cough cough….

Facts what???. You say IVE isn’t #1 because they aren’t #1 in every areas so is Aespa beside album sales they’re #2 or #3 at most.
You talk about Japanese demands when IVE is bigger in japan, Kepler has a platinum certification in japan and fearless did quite good in japan. :rip:

 :ahh:

aespa's bigger sales with a mini watch out IVE releasing their mini and snatching aespa's wig there.

Are we talking about Korea or overall?

how many flop eras IVEs had? 0

how many flop eras aespa's had? Black Mamba, Forever, Girls (except physicals)

are you really going to talk about western success when IVE doesn't even have a record deal in the US and they haven't even put a foot on anything related to promotion in the US? You are putting US Radio because IVE doesn't even sent their songs to radio of course they won't they don't even have a record deal.

Ticket sales? Literally the girls have 6 songs how can they have a concert? :deadbanana4:

The fact that IVE is stomping aespa's in Spotify,AM and Billboard it should be more than enough to call them 4th Gen #1 Leaders WW.

You are going to come for Japan again just because of the showcase? :ahh:

in the only thing aespa's is winning right now is in every category IVE haven't tried

mini album, radio promo and concert/showcase :rip:

IVE is not here for aespa's they stomped them and even stomped Twice. Quote me when aespa pass Twice WW first or when aespa's snatch BLACKPINK D4 wall that IVE just did

It's funny how you claim to "root" for aespa, but every post you make seems to be designed to downplay them. Very interesting.

8 months in, NL was already a bigger song than anything IVE has released so far. 11 months in, they had progressed to PAK and selling half a million in a month, so let's not act as if they were flop rookies. There's a reason aespa swept the 2021 rookie awards.

You also answered your own question. IVE has no international deal so they are out of that race at the moment, compared to other 4th gen groups.

To be an undisputed leader as you put it, you need to be untouchable in all areas, so you set IVE up by calling them that.

Of course some people will quote this as a "meltdown" or me trying to downplay IVE's success. No. The issue is with you calling them an "undisputed leader" as if Spotify streams invalidate everything else that other groups have already acheived. :rip:
